Hello everyone,
I just bought this phone yesterday (traded in my iphone for it heh) and would like to point out a key highlight for anyone considering the phone, which has been omitted from the comments and even the review on gsmarena thus far:
The build quality feels cheap.
The phone is a tad bit too light for something so packed with features (5MP, Xenon + GPS + a full OS). The battery cover is plastic and also feels kinda cheap, although it sits well and secure (no jiggling). Also found a slight gap in the casing (background lighting from the camera key, volume rocker, seep through this).
Other key considerations, audio quality is a little inferior to the N81 but by no means inadequate - it still does a good job. Also, a bit of a disappointment was the display was also inferior to the ones Nokia normally has for its high end phones such as the N95 8GB.
However, bear in mind that price wise, its great value for money. Mine cost USD 496 versus USD 672 for the N95 8GB. Thats not bad at all for something that packs possibly the best camera phone in the market currently coupled with GPS, good multimedia capability and OS functionality.
Hope these comments are helpful to anyone considering buying the N82.

n96...hmmm...im kinda in and out about it..
gorgeously talented but underpowered...im talkin about the lousy batt life..lol...b'sides that...m gonna get it soon...

see all the website on the right that sell this phone....don't ever buy from Provatage.com. because the sell phone from MADE IN CHINA i just got mine last week. RIP OFF.

Nokia should provide smart fit in their browsers. .
As surfing the internet is cumbersome and tiring to the nimb
I am using the e51
Its browser is very good but no smart fit.
So i ve downloaded and use operamini v4. .
But unfortunately it does not have save page options. . I have decided to switch over to sonyericsson as its phones have the smart fit and save page options direct to memory card

Now I have another nice feature on my N82 after installing software called SkyeCaller PRO: I can see full screen size caller pictures instead of thumbnails!Wow!

do not compare a phone's camera to a digital camera. You simply can't.It's like a novice warrior against a shaolin master.When saving the pics it's slower, the quality is lower etc... But who is carrying a camera in his pocket, when you have a N82 CarlZeisTessar smart gadget? :))

Nokia rocks?!? hm... I must think a bit... 'cause I was verry enthusiastic for downloading the upgrade "os." for my N82, hoping that the upgrade will help in the tricks and problems that i mentioned.
First of all, if I know well-and I'm pretty sure I do- vodafone is not making any changes, modifications on the softwares of the phones they sell, but the producers, manufatures do.
for exemple 6234 was ordered by vodafone,and was made by Nokia espacially for Voda users
Now something like "Vodafone Symbian Os" does not exist, just "Symbian Os". All in all, or the hardwer of my N82 is wounded, and has some problems or the software does.
It seems thet after the upgrade it does work a bit better, but is far from my expectations,een now makes interesting stuff when entering in submenus folders etc.Howeverit became a bit whatever faster, but I don't know yet if it's more stabil then it was before. I hope that bu upgradeing the Software it will work better and better...
The video is still crap, the pictures with xenon are great, without in bad ligth conditions are medium...

i am impressed with this phone. but i want to know whether the camera speed is equivalent to a digital camera. especially the focussing time, shot to shot time, flash charging time, shutter lag etc.
