      Kacie:

The keypad is O-K. Its definitely a far cry from comfortable but it isnt terrible either. However, if you're a frequent and heavy texter, this phone is not for you. On the other hand, the software does help improve typing speed a bit.

      Update on issues:
The volume rocker/camera zoom key seems a bit far recessed. Could have helped to have it protuding a bit more.

      Manny:
The back is plastic and definitely feels cheap (especially with the addition of that wierd design). I think the best build quality I have come across so far in Nokia phones is the E61i with its steel back and extremely solid construction.

This is a perfect fone for me (specs and all) and I would love to get it, if not for the dreadful buttons. Why do they have to spoil it by having those small hard ones? Don't they know it really doesn't feel comfortable if you go on text often? Or can someone tell me I'm wrong. Terribly saddened by this.

Just got mine today!! Great phone!! No down sides!! Keyboard takes 30 mins to get used to, no big deal.

Xenon flash as bright as a stand alones camera.

                      Good Job Nokia!

You Don't Get What You Pay For!!
                            --------------------------------

"An important point is that the screen of N82 isn't only inferior in size, it also features a lower brightness and less realistic color rendition, e.g. the K850i model displays a more vivid image. In this sense N82 differs from N73 in a big way."

"it does lack some brightness and the colors are a bit washed out compared to Nokia N95 8GB."

"With the small size of the numerical buttons, a certain percentage of customers tend to keep a negative attitude to such small keys"

"The lower row of buttons is located at the very botton of the body, which is a bit unusual and might make you feel awkward"

"The white on silver keypad markings are impossible to see in bright sunlight. Not good."

"The navigation controls are rather clumsy, the buttons are small and crowded. The multimedia menu button is located between the function button and the C button and is the easiest to handle of htem all. The rest of navigation keys are much harder to control."

"The multimedia buttons can't be used as game controls, so the landscape orientation is something too clumsy to be used for playing on this phone."

"The screen rotation is a bit hit-and-miss. Sometimes it works fine, and other times it's slow and indecisive, resulting in situations when you get landscape view while holding the phone vertical, and portrait view while holding the phone horizontal. Many times, viewing the phone while lying down creates similar problems."

"The location of the charging port bothers me. I'd much prefer it to be at the bottom of the phone. If you're like me, often using the phone while it's being charged, you'll find the N82 extremely awkward to use while it's charging. The cable just gets in the way of everything."

"This thing can't stand by itself! I don't about you, but being a phone whose camera is one of its biggest selling point, I can't just put it on a flat surface and shoot! Especially for shooting videos, this ability is absolutely crucial."
                            -----------------------------------------

In my opinion, the worst flaw is the dim display. I'd wait for N96 or sony Xperia X1.

                                  to CYMBAL

i'll keep that in mind. and i'm still waiting for the much anticipating release of SE G900 and SAMSUNG G810. if these two phones fall short compared to N82, i might reconsider getting this one and perhaps the color black will be available by that time.

I've just updated my n73 to the n82. Its great having all the latest features, but I believe the thing thats most important in a phone is the ability to personalize it, because we all have different requirements. With the n82, if you're on a call there is no way to personalize a shortcut key to an application of your choice! I have to go through eight key strokes to reach an application I regularly need while on a call! With every good phone I have ever owned, three key strokes was the maximum I would have to make.
