      buy a separate gps,a real one. The precision of gps of n82,and the detail level of nokia maps are far of a real gps unit. Like their photo-video quality:good for a mobile phone,but weak compared with stand alone real movie or photo cameras. Just for fun,not for real arhive recordings,to pass through the years. I am waiting in 2008 for a new N-monster with optical zoom,better resolution

        to good karma:

        Do u want all those positive points in one phone?
        >if YES, then i doubt this is the right time for you to purchase an upgrade of whatever phone you have in your hand, your next phone wasn't born yet, maybe soon.
        >If NO, then it's just a matter of personal preference my friend. In my case i chose N82 cause it got all what i want/need in a smartphone, and i don't have any regrets with it.

        It's just like your girlfriend or wife that you like/love most, but don't expect everyone to like/love her cause we all have different taste.

        Good Luck!

                Dear Junky,

                It was really great hearing from you. I had been to a store and that is why decision making has become all the more difficult.

                Following are my observations,

                LG Viewity: most impressive in looks and being the only phone with touch screen- gives a lot of temptation.

                But what is missing is-
                1)LGs capability of handling music, photos...- whether it will hang.
                2)No xenon flash
                3)very bad battery life.

                N82: Great features- has capability to handly office(mail/ document reader) with pleasures(music, pics..)

                Negatives:
                1)Less Battery life for official talkers
                2)Design not impressive- looks like an ordinary phone in hand- does not look like an expensive device
                3)no usb charging: always need to have charger in laptop(otherwise in all other phones only datacable suffices)
                4)Hanging issue- application hangs in most n series phones.

                SE K850i:
                Positives:
                1)great battery life
                2)ok pictures- cyber shot(pls cofirm whether image stabilizer is there), music player
                3)stable os

                negatives:
                1)ordinary looks
                2)no mails chking software/ no docu reader
                3)no tv out
                4)

                  I hate the color and Key Pad of N82. I no buy Sony Erricsson mainly for their key pad style but now Nokia copy Sony key pad. Way to go Nokia. N82 great phone in wrong case.

                    N82 peeps,

                    have you tried pairing your N82 with a Nokia BH-501 bluetooth headset? I just want to know how's the experience...

                      @KAD, n82 peeps
                      right you go dude!
                      but if u'll notice, with due fairness, most if not all peeps who are bad-to-the-bone detractors of the unit, and all other great units as well, are those who cannot afford the price tag! how many dismayed peeps here have acutally bought the phone, and was so dissatisfied with their decisions and postd their complaint...
                      ho hummmm....

                        All expert reviews from gsmarena.com, mobile-review.com, mobileburn.com praise the N82 for its features and functionality. I can't understand why people are raising a hue and cry on trivial things here instead of reviewing the product.

                          This phone is loaded with options but the design is poor and the keypad seems similar to the sony ericsson w880 which is not very comfortable. Also it needs a black colour to reduce its ugliness

                            Hey all, I was wondering if I could download/upload maps into this phone, so that I could use the gps without paying for the navigation.

                                another observation on my N82:
                                >when the phone is in power saver mode and when you receive a call only the screen area lights up and the keypad, soft keys and d-pad buttons remains off. Are you guys experiencing the same scenario? i don't think this is a good option for Nokia coz the possibility is we might press the wrong key when we are located at a totally dim areas.

                                I hope this will be resolve in future firmware upgrades...

                                  N82 is a great camcorder too! It takes VGA videos at 30fps and the quality is unbeatable.

                                    yes. all network devices - integrated or stand-alone, have their own mac addresses, its like their imei or something, btw, if your local wifi has its security set to wep, u dont have to worry about mac addressing...
                                    and n82 has its wireless set to b/g, no worries there ma friend

                                      and all the rest drooling over zenum opus...guys, the spex of zenum opus is no far different than e61i,in some respect, e61i does even way better.in the end, its just gonna be another fad that would fade and you'll end up trading your opus to probably k850i,w960,n95 8gb,or n82...bet ur balls i won't be trading mine for one...
                                      @zenum OEM
                                      great start though, kudos!, more players in the mobile tech industry means better choice for consumers like us.

                                      Assisted GPS is what it is...a more advanced version of the conventional GPS triangulation for smarter location and integration of available cellsites nearby to provide a more accurate positioning...blah blah...lol

                                      there u go...we got a better view from a user of both units...kudos to you bro...thanks for ur post..but regarding the iphone...i'd give to them huge credits for the responsiveness of their OS and touchscreen...they've set a bench mark on this category...umphht...lol
                                      @gengkhiskhan
                                      hey bro, i'd like to see u post ur own version of the perfect phone,get an RnD team to develop it,setup ur own company, manufacture it, market it...we'll go ahead and dump our n82's down the drain and buy ur stuff, until then, i'll live with my precious here...meanwhile...u can lie awake in your bed and drool all night ...btw, i would assume you're using a near perfect phone now, design and functionality - wise...just a thought..lol...
