After receiving my N82 today I have been thrashing the media player quite a bit. First and foremost yes the size is bigger but its not as heavy as what everybody says. It feel good to hold and the buttons depress effectively when sending SMS's. I agree the battery life could be better but using the phone under normal conditions (in my case, phone tech support) it holds really well. I even use it with SIP using the Wifi and it handles very well.

I am very surprised in the sound that the MP3 player gives. I am comparing this with a Nokia N80, E61i and an SE w850i. I am using a 2 bluetooth recievers DS-970 an HS-200 both from SE. I am also using my own headfones an Sony in-ear design. First let me start with the speaker on the N82 compared to all the other Nokia's I have, the N82 is by far superior, it also has 2 speakers to one side of the phone. It has the capability to use stereo widening witch is compared to Dolby stereo with is a great feature. I compared with the SE w850i and the N82 has a fully editable graphic equalizer. It has an 8 bands EQ for you to toy with, even with this the mega-bass from the w850i the walkman phone cannot compare with the low deep richness of this Bass of the N82. Nokia have considerably improved the mp3 player to their best. There some really nifty visulaizations that can make playing music on this phone pleasure to watch but thats is just cosmetic.

If any of you are wondering about bugs or freezing of the OS....I have not experienced this. Note I also have a 4gb card and its full of music some word docs and excel sheets and its performing well above expectation. There are NO performance issues and its still lightning fast. I had the opportunity to use my friends N95 8gb a week ago for a day and I did have experience performance issues. Whatever issue Nokia had with the previous models I believe that they have irons them out.

Navigating from messaging to contact and to emails was fast. There was no lag and again performed upto par. On startup again it was fast upto to 3 secs approx.

The camera is a fantastic. OK its not DSLR but for a point an shoot its perfect. I took a test picture in complete darkness and the phone managed to focus at an object without any problems. As with all camera phones there will be pre-processing involved... So let me just say Nokia you have done wonders with this snaptastic piece of innovation. I was going to buy a seperate P&S camera to accompany my DSLR but this is great. This is truely a Swiss Army Phone.

So to all you Nokia haters out there!!! Don't judge the book by its cover. Try and get your hands on this device and use it for a week before passing judgement. According to a recent research Nokia now holds 38% of the world market share. SE comes in 3rd place according to a swedish technology paper.

I hope this helps some of the peeps that questions.

are you kidding me phone of the year, it is exactly the same as n95, with different design and a lousy keypad

if they improve the battery life and hanging problems it is much more better

this will result for a drawback, for sure there will be a black edition for this

Why are SE fanboys still here? Although I have 2 SE phones, you don't see me start bashing Nokia phones or starting flames! Until you start using smartphones for once, you will never know how useless your phone is. I, for one am grateful of Symbian's existence, otherwise, my P1i would not be created. For f**k sake, leave the Nokia forums alone, so I could know more when I'm considering a Nokia purchase!

              k850 have still a brighter, better screen..its a fact..

it manage sunshine better, (because of its new screen-technology)....see here...k850 vs n95 screen
              http://img123.imageshack.us/img123/6700/imgphpwz1.jpg

i have also compare both screen side by side..and k850 had a brighter screen...n95 screen is not bad, but is not better.

and last.........java based phones are faster then symbian based phones..thats a fact to.
(its just silly to say something else)

                    What N82 have that K850 doesn't have:

                    -30 fps VGA video capture
                    -2.4″QVGA 240×320, 16M colors screen
                    -Wi-Fi
                    -Built-in GPS
                    -3.5 mm audio output jack
                    -TV out
                    -Office document viewer
                    -Fast Symbian OS 9.2, S60 rel. 3.1
                    -UPnP technology
-microSD up to 32GB, 2 GB card included
                    -secondary videocall camera
                    -AND MANY MORE....

I saw more than 10 serious review about the K850...conclusion: bad video recording, take dark pictures, thick for no features, and full of bugs.

                    The N82 destroy the K850!

this phone is a n95 in disguise, got all the functions of n95 except 8gb memory. dont even think of buying sony ericsson i do admitt they got the best music, design and camera but friends have a common sense u can do much more with a symbian phone, sony always lacks somthing even thier top products like p1 and w960 doest have edge and their video quality sucks only 15 fps.
