There is a speakerphone! It's both on the right side.. It's best used when the phone is held horizontally.when the right side faces you, you'll see one speaker grill on the right and another one on the left side...Okay???!!!

After receiving my N82 today I have been thrashing the media player quite a bit. First and foremost yes the size is bigger but its not as heavy as what everybody says. It feel good to hold and the buttons depress effectively when sending SMS's. I agree the battery life could be better but using the phone under normal conditions (in my case, phone tech support) it holds really well. I even use it with SIP using the Wifi and it handles very well.

I am very surprised in the sound that the MP3 player gives. I am comparing this with a Nokia N80, E61i and an SE w850i. I am using a 2 bluetooth recievers DS-970 an HS-200 both from SE. I am also using my own headfones an Sony in-ear design. First let me start with the speaker on the N82 compared to all the other Nokia's I have, the N82 is by far superior, it also has 2 speakers to one side of the phone. It has the capability to use stereo widening witch is compared to Dolby stereo with is a great feature. I compared with the SE w850i and the N82 has a fully editable graphic equalizer. It has an 8 bands EQ for you to toy with, even with this the mega-bass from the w850i the walkman phone cannot compare with the low deep richness of this Bass of the N82. Nokia have considerably improved the mp3 player to their best. There some really nifty visulaizations that can make playing music on this phone pleasure to watch but thats is just cosmetic.

If any of you are wondering about bugs or freezing of the OS....I have not experienced this. Note I also have a 4gb card and its full of music some word docs and excel sheets and its performing well above expectation. There are NO performance issues and its still lightning fast. I had the opportunity to use my friends N95 8gb a week ago for a day and I did have experience performance issues. Whatever issue Nokia had with the previous models I believe that they have irons them out.

Navigating from messaging to contact and to emails was fast. There was no lag and again performed upto par. On startup again it was fast upto to 3 secs approx.

The camera is a fantastic. OK its not DSLR but for a point an shoot its perfect. I took a test picture in complete darkness and the phone managed to focus at an object without any problems. As with all camera phones there will be pre-processing involved... So let me just say Nokia you have done wonders with this snaptastic piece of innovation. I was going to buy a seperate P&S camera to accompany my DSLR but this is great. This is truely a Swiss Army Phone.

So to all you Nokia haters out there!!! Don't judge the book by its cover. Try and get your hands on this device and use it for a week before passing judgement. According to a recent research Nokia now holds 38% of the world market share. SE comes in 3rd place according to a swedish technology paper.

To the last comment. N82 and N95 has similar features. It really depends on taste to be honest. I bought this phone based on how it feels in the hand and ofcourse the features. I had a N80 and from there on I didnt like Slider phones. Although, the N95 is a great phone its not my taste. So to answer your question its all matter of taste. Yes the N95 has a bigger screen but the N82 is more than sufficient enough for web browsing. I'm really happy with this phone so far. the best test is the next coming month to see how it pans out.

                    PGxZ-
I don't care about TV-Out, just burn a disc of what your recorded, or go buy the TV-Out wire from Sony Ericsson. The Secondary camera though has a much better quality, either because of the 2ndry camera or because of the quality of the transmission from the K850. Either way, when viewing video calling on the K850, the other party looks very clear, whilist on the other phone, only the K850's transmissioned video looks the best. Used with an N95, the K850's video calling quality in receiving and transmitting seems to be the best of the two.

@ loser who won't accept that SE is beating Nokia (vpdN)-
                    GO HOME

                    Rx6p-
Can you give us a comparison based on YOUR average useages between both phones? In terms of quality within speed, software, hardware and useability.

                    TS}6 (Chang)-
As I said above, yes, this phone does have MegaBass. It is very much comparable to the quality of MegaBass that the W series has.

                    vpdd-
Your fcking N73 has a battery talk time life of 9.5hrs on paper. My K850 has done me for nearly two days, listening to music most of the time, making a few video calls, texting for about an hour, making some 15minute phone calls, and surfing the internet on facebook.

                    M%6a (italiana)-
Looks like you just proved that the N82 is just an average phone. You should get an A+ on this or something, lawl.

                    4Bbn-
You DO know why there are dark pictures with the K850 right, kiddo? BECAUSE YOUR FCKING HANDS ARE IN THE FCKING WAY OF THE FCKING SENSOR. Don't be stupid, and use responsibly.
Also, you never really done in the K850 did you? All you can go upon are facts, and you're still going on about facts with the N82 as well. You've boasted about the N95, which I've never heard you say you got yet either.

                    vpd1-
Hey, fcker. I think it's the other way around, damaged brain is better then no brain. So I think you just made fun of yourself. That was funny, thanks for making my minute, lol

                    NHeV (Jan Klaas)-
It's a Sony (Ericsson) lens, which comes up to par with the CarlZeiss lens without having to be a CarlZeiss lens. IF Sony Ericsson uses the CarlZeiss lens, the market for camera phones will only contain Sony Ericsson.

                    iFXm (Sherif)-
In terms of flash, don't use it unless positively, absolutely necessary. In photography, you want the best pictures. Flash gives you the usually unwanted presence of human interference. Judge by yourself, but don't use flash all the time. Even in low light situations, the K850 manages to bring out the best of pictures.

                    ijnN (Yudanto)-
He's not using it properly. Tell him to not put his hands infront of the; flash, sensor, or the camera. Also, try not to put your hands on the back of the phone either.

                    Uq4T (Saad)-
The K800/K810 cameras were either raised to avoid this, or were isolated by the sides of the sliding mech for the cover, and sheltered it from the interference of fingers or hands. The sensor was also a bit inside the phone, unlike how the sensor on this phone is right on the outside.

                    4Bbn;
                    Oh wow, 16M Colors.
                    Oh wow, built in GPS.
Oh wow, slower WiFi to replace that Tri-Band HSDPA connection you have on the 3.5G K850
Oh wow, "Fast" symbian (By the way, in Nokia land, fast means slow)
K850 has the memory card slot to go up to 32Gbs on BOTH M2 and MicroSD, but do not recommend it as it will slow down the phone. The N82 with symbian I suppose "can" handle the 32GB card without freezing ATLEAST once?
Also, the 3.5mm audio jack only makes the phone bigger with it being unnecessary, and you HAVE to unplug it if you want to talk on the phone.
Also the K850 has a secondary video calling camera, which seems to be the one with the best quality out there so far. And the K850 can view .rtf and .doc files. Just did a presentation last week, and read off of my phone. I've got to say, the bluetooth remote control ever since the W810 still amazes me. Oh, and I believe that's something that Nokia doesn't have. SonyEricsson phones can control printers, laptops, projectors and slideshows/presentations/performances once connected through bluetooth.

                    Cheers
                    -kDnq

This is a good phone, got a lots of features, although I can't say that wether loads of features slow down this phone like previous nokia phones..but why do U people think K850 is bad??Here are some things you need to learn.

                                  1. Not everyone in this world need GPS..in many countries its useless.
                                  2. Yes nokia has better video quality but are you a file director or what??why do u need VGA video anyway??I think qvga is enough..I am not shooting no movie.
                                  3. As for the picture its a known fact that SE cams show you what actually is there unlike nokia which automatically apply effects like saturation and contrast so pictures look pleasent BUT accuracy counts folks...SE cams are best because they are accurate, now for a novice users nokia way is better as everything is "ready made" but for a more experience user this approach has no appeal, I for one like to experiment with the pictures, edit them my way not automatically "polished" pictures like nokia cams. You can read the comparison of K800 & N73 to confirm this fact.
Thats why for novice users K850 is not good as you actually have to know what you are doing rather then just point and shoot stuff that nokia offers..and IF you know what are you doing then SE cams are unbeatable. I have w810i and I can guarantee you that I have not seen any nokia with a 2mp cam that can match my cam. K800 beat N73 with a great margin, as for the recent comparison of K850 and N95..the thing nokia fans tend to ignore is that at that time K850 was not a final product...if K800 can stand on its grounds firmly in front of N95 then don't you think its a bit stupid to say that K850 camera sucks???The truth is that K850 has a great camera..but nokia users perhaps don't know how to shoot pictures and want thier cell phone to help them in it and show them an "artificial" image greatly enhanced automatically by built-in effects. So if you are novice user..better stick with nokia.
                                  4. I have used nokia and I am using SE..and I can tell you that nokia is for people who just want everything presented "ready made" on the other hand SE is for those who like to experiment and explore thier mobile. I have W810i and I have modded it so it lacks nothing(except smaller screen size) I have password protected my mobile, am using tons of flash themes and custom icons and believe me no nokia looks that good when I am using the "special" themes and icons, I have modified my audio drivers and have made this set VERY loud to such an extenet that no nokia can compete it in loudness and quality(on headphones), have modded my cam drivers and its superb with every option that a nokia n73 has and there is even a way to convert the format of saved videos to mp4 but I don't need it so have not tried it and all of it has been done WITHOUT symbian os...so who needs that boring os which only causes the mobile to slow down and hang a lot???
I can use internet, send and recieve emails, use mms, watch videos, enjoy high quality music(thats the most important thing) and can rely on the long lasting battery life which is only a dream for the nokia users, what more do you want on a mobile???Unless you need a slow like hell mobile that most of nokias are..not everyone needs symbian os..its not a very stable os.
                                  5. As for the 16m colors, I have said it again and again that 16 million or 256k, on a mobile screen it DOES NOT much difference, the only difference it makes is that the battery dies too early..no proof needed..right?? 256k is more than enough for a mobiel screen and no human eye can differentiate between these colors on mobile screen. I have even seen some SE sets that look much better than nokia screens.

In the end...I would again say that N82 looks promising and got lots of features BUT not everyone in this world need all those features in thier mobiles because the truth is that a mobile CANNOT handle all these features,N95 is an example which has suffered a lot on the performance side because of these tons of features. I need a fast and stable set, jst like my W810i which I have been using for one and a half year and it has never gave me ANY problem even for once.
I have said all this to show you that not everyone is satisfied with the nokia way, even with all those features, everyone has thier own preferences...so stop dissing K850i as it is a great set with everything a mobile SHOULD have just not the fancy extra features like N82..and I belive I can live with that very very happily :-)

I saw the phone yesterday in a retail store, and i must say, it looks way better than i expected. It looks solid and well built, although the keypad are abit small, the whole body look very shiny and scratch proof. I dont know about the feature yet, but i'm sure it must be pretty good, plus in my country, cambodia, its over 100 dollars cheaper than the n95 8g, its only 550. this phone will certainly give SE a run for their money, this is nokia's direct competition to K850i, and i think nokia will come out on top.(although i'm a SE fan)

I hope this helps some of the peeps that questions.
