there are way too many bugs and delays in the software...the hardware is great...it's processor underclocked...x-plore tells me that it has 192mhz....why's that? the N81 works faster :| im a litle bit disaopinted

I have had n85 for over a minth now.
It a great phone.
My slide seems to be a little loose.
Is it kept a lil loose by NOKIA as a default or it gets loose by use.
The sound quality is average as compared to N73.
On the other hand best phone in the market.
But its expensive and slides do get loosen up a lil I
guess.

Anyway, on the box it says it is made on the 49th week of 2008, meaning something in the beginning of December.
Also, it is a N85-3 (the US version...)

what do you mean nokia are wasting your money? how is it your money...? you dont pay taxes to them do you? i guess you buy a mobile every yr from them and you think you suddenly fund them!
N85 is quite simply the best phone on the market (bar the iphone but only if you dont take pics/vids and want touch)
i have n85 and new touchXM nokia & had all nokias previously. yes i work for nokia and not trying to flog nokias..i am purely saying the n85 is the best nokia if you decide to go for one.
the slider is not dodgy as i have read prior- its perfect unless you smash it! i would say that the software freezes once a month but you wait a few mins and goes back to normal
remember each person wants something different out a phone but n85 is a really top all round phone which suits everyones needs(callers,txters,surfers,music,vids,male,female)

This is for people who cannot afford the n96 or people who unfortunatly buy their phones off orange retail or p4u

loose slide? WTF ... the slide is perfect, 3months in i have opened and closed it more times than i have had hot dinners & its sturdy as
hard for texting? wTF... possibly the easiest nokia to text with by far- it was designed to be easy to txt
oled - wow
music player - great
video centre - hats off nokia (this could be a 900$ camcorder)
iplayer - easy to use
wifi - simplest net to browse on any phone - fact
satnav - perrfectly quick (genus) on in a flash
ngage- you can download any game and it really is the best gaming quality on any phone (bar iphone)
double slide- helps gaming(turns into a psp) and music and looking at pics,net
response time of the phone is the quickest on any phone. look on youtube at videos of loading applications..it takes a split second.

no problems!! we have 4 of these in the family as a deal and we are all in love
i am a girl but my brother loves it as much
has everything you need, and as long as you dont drop it loads then hey it wont break.
i had n82 before and i have to say well done nokia....the best phone to date

I baught a N85 on 22.01.09 from Nokia priority center, Basundhara City, Dhaka, Bangladesh. But on 06.02.09 my sent can't operate. after open the phone the light is open and any key does not work. I switch off the sent after opening the battery. Now I've to send the set to Nokia care on 06.02.09 and still on there.
Is it the mejor/monor problem??
I'm very confused....
& broak harten...

many of the N85 users must have faced this problem, after 1 month u cant hear anythng thru the earpiece of ur hand set while receiving / making a call, for hearing the sound u need to use either headset or loudspeaker.. its a hardware( earpiece) damage ...So be careful while choosing N85

Had this as an online upgrade but I sent it back. Texting hopeless and not up to the usual Nokia easy standard. The 'recently used' send message feature missing, as are the smilies. Also didn't appear to have a message log count. Not sure if it's a software problem but the accelerometer sensor didn't seem to work meaning the screen often stuck in landscape mode. The slider seemed very loose and the phone generally poor quality compared to my 6300. Also, each 'program', including messaging has to be exited otherwise it keeps running.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend this phone although I can see its attraction for some.

Guys. . I have just seen the photos taken by n85 and compared to the shots of oldman n95 and found that the camera is not as good as expected from nokia . . . . Nokia work needed here. . . If possible i will upload photos soon and you all may clearly see that there is lack of autofocus. . . . And one more thing is the music player crashes while updating library. . . Bad news for me and n85 lovers i hope nokia fixes these two problems in next firmware update . . . . . . . If any question regarding any doubt post it . I wil help if possible
