To all n85 owners:
1) Can the flash be used as a flashlight (torch)?
2) Any slider quality build issues?
3) Is it user-friendly for texting?
4) What is the latest firmware for this phone?

Hi, I have bought a N85 last week. The battery life seems to be very poor. It only lasts for 1 day. I don't use bluetooth. Very little talk time, some internet using LAN and couple of photo's. Is this normal ?
My earlier Nokia 6120 had about 5 days standby time.

Hey!!I have purchased the phone its sexy...No issue with the slider..but the only problem is the area under the D.pad...it seems that it is loosely glued...I dont know what to do...If u have an idea might as well give me....

People who keep asking about pricing: gsmarena has a helpful section to the left of this blog called CHECK PRICE. There are quite a few stores to choose from. I've ordered from PhoneSource-USA and ImportGSM, and had good experiences with both. I'm just holding out for the all-black version for the US.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970innov8 is better than n85 and n85 is better than n95 8gb and n95 8gb is better than n96 and n96 is the most expensive of all.
considering innov8 and n85 i'd get n85 cause you don't miss so much functionality plus you gain some features such as fm transmitter, dual slider, multimedia keys, oled display and more pocketable body.and you save considerable money...

I've bought this phone about 1 week ago - and all I can say is WOW!
This phone is amazingly great. I know that before buying it I read a lot of reviews and forum opinions with people talking about rebooting issues, bad build, etc, but I've found that by now (February 2009) and the new firmware everything is fixed in this phone and there are no issues.
Also the build quality is good enough and the slider works great.
Finally, what you must see is the OLED screen in the dark - Nothing comes even close to this (just remember to set the settings in the options to 100% brightness).

Guys i did a lot of research on nokia n85 and n79 and found that al the hardware features me these 2 mobile are the same including camera built and quality is same the photos taken by these two camera are same . . . Both mobile have same arm processors and same application power if u are looking for a great phone at little less price i would prefer n79 i found only three difference between these 2 . First one in screen size and nokia 85 has oled display second one in memory 85 max memory is 16 but 79 is 8 i am sure that is sufficient and the last and most noticable is their 3g network support 85 support 900 1900 2100 mhz but 79 supports 900 2100 mhz and i want to know if 85 slider is durable or not plz let me no

which is the best equalizer setting for N85 and how to assign a ringtone/song to a contact and i am not able to assign a image to contact as well...Please Help

This is all in one phone. i came from Nokia N95 8GB and I can tell you it is alot sleeker and better in my opinion. About durable, I can tell all users that nothing is last forever, but it is well build and in my opinion is better than my n95. Slider works great, glossy screen looks very nice with AMOLED makes it a lot difference in dark, you will have harder time in the direct sunlight (make sure to get screen protector, whole body shield is a must to have). Without the firmware update, this phone is still in immature stage, but after the update this is a lot better in performance. I recommended it, do not spent for N96 but take a chance to try this phone out instead. Hope it will help, if you have other questions please let me know, I will try to be as helpful as I can.

Go and try one in the shop be4 u get this phone well i think it quite ok as a phone but im not sure its durability. Time will tell

I am unable to zoom in onto pictures that I've clicked and those that I have downloaded...
Isnt it possible to zoom in on pics on this phone.. or am i plain dumb?
