Does anyone know another phones besides Samsung INNOV8 with 3D Graphic accelerator chip??? i was planning to buy an n85 but this dissapoints me...

You have to have own the set to know the truth. I think Nokia may have changed their camera supplier.
I too have very high hope for N85 after the disappointing N96 (sold for a loss, sad), but it is just not good enough, not even up to N82 standard.
This is the same sentiment shared by my friends who bought it recently too.
Maybe a future firmware update will fixed the camera and speaker sound (loud but may get distorted).

i think a true all-round multimedia device should a 3d graphics accelerator and dedicated audio chip. is the absence of 3d graphics chip on n85 really a big deal? not only in performance but also in image & video quality? i wanna try this phone for myself first before i buy it. but it's not yet available here in dubai. n85 seems to be perfect already if only it has 3d graphics engine and dedicated audio chip. i think samsung innov8 is the best multimedia device today. but it's too pricey.

It looks quite good actually
That's strange you say the camera is lousy, maybe you get a defective one ?

oh c'mon! don't discourage me from buying this phone. i don't care about camera at all, as long as it's got 5mp carl zeiss optics whether the results are good or bad, it's okay with me. (neither i cared about n82's xenon flash, that's why i sold it). what i wanna know is how's the sound quality via 3.5mm jack?

Shocking News :
The Camera is LOUSY !!!
N95, N82 and even N78 camera is better. Despite the same Carl Zeiss branding, I think Nokia may have change the camera module/sensor module Supplier.
The Speaker is LOUD !!!
But not as good quality as N96. When play loud N85 sounds distorted.
Other than that, the phone UI is fast and easy to use.
I'm having mixed feeling over it. Its a GOOD phone but not GREAT at all.

Have a loo... moreThe only place the N95s beat N85 is 3D performances like triangles, texturing etc etc. . .fact is the 3D acceleration seen in N95 is only used in a handfull of apps and games (Global Race, System Rush OpenGL, Quake Open GL, AND Camera (pic and video). Yet the N85 can perform just as well in Camera without the 3D Accelerator ( GPU) and the games above have non GPU counter parts that luk the same so the N95 graphics performance doesnt count for much. The N85 beats N95 in terms of speed, Java engine performance, stability etc. . . As seen with the other scores.

N85 is far behind N95 in every parameter. If you want a better phone than N95 don't buy N85 but the coming 8 Mpix Nserie.
But that won't stop me to buy N85, still a great phone.

N85 is a BIG improvement over N95-1 and N95 8GB.
N85 is Perfect for that reason.
INNOV8 is at a higher price, but has almost the same specifications as N85 besides the camera nothing else differs.
C905 is a Good Camera Phone and a Good Phone with a Very simple outlook to its aims.
N85 has been Revieved as a Perfect 'Mid-Range' High-end featured device.

It's pretty close to being perfect though. Realy good devices, cant wait to get my hands on one.
