Consumers won't pay attention about the processor specifications. What matters is the actual performance of the phone. INNOV8 is not just about 8MP. It justifies a true all-in-one multimedia device. My N95 8GB has a great camera sans the Xenon flash. But I'll be downgrading if I choose N85 or N96. While if I choose INNOV8, I'll have the most powerful camera in a mobile phone, excellent music player and all other multimedia functions. I'm getting Samsung INNOV8 for trialing. If it meets my expectations, I'll buy it. If not, then I'm going to skip buying any new Nokia phones for now, since I think I'll only be wasting money on them. I don't think N96 or N85 is the worthy upgrade for my N95 8GB.

The N91, N81 and N85 easily have the best sound quality. The N81 and N85 have the Freescale i.mx31 CPU which runs at 369mhz and has a audio DSP running at 235mhz, ON TOP OF THAT they have seperate Audio Enhancement/Amp chips with noise reduction technology. The TI OMAP CPU in the Innov8 has a weaker DSP and obviously some seperate audio processor that obviously still doesnt match N81 and N85. The N85 is EASILY the better Multimedia Computer than the Innov8.
The N85 has the dedicated Multimedia keys, with buttons at the top and bottom of the screen, this is essential for a Multimedia device to be used in different orientations, NOKIA noticed that long ago on the N93 and also on N95, and now the N81, N96, and N85 also have this since all are positioned as Gaming, Music, Video, and Web devices. In reality all the Innov8 is is a 8mp Cam phone,it doesnt realy bring anything special and its missing hardware that most power users need.

The Samsung INNOV8 unit that has been reviewed by those sites is a pre-production unit only. That's not the final version. I don't believe that two different phone models will have same audio quality. Even N95 and N82 which have the very same hardware which controls the audio output don't have same audio quality, N82 a tad better than N95 in sound quality. Let's just wait for a proper review. I hope they will compare INNOV8's sound quality with N91. But I doubt they will, since N91 is a long-forgotten device already. So I'm gonna stick with Samsung INNOV8 which has the best image quality and best sound quality among all phones right now!

An audiophile wil know that the margin of audio quality between n85 and innov8 isnt that big. The audio quality doesnt match all the above factors and that n85 wins in these factors. Thats why n85 is a better music phone.

I wanted 2 purchase the N95 8GB yet i didnt coz i needed more space.....so The N96 is an ALTERNATIVE.........Nokia realised that peaople are different so in order 2 suit the needs of numerous people and meet there charector standards in wat phone they should use, they produce a number of models with similer features for u 2 choose from.....that way they meet ur perdonal needs.....!!!!So if u dnt like the N96 that means it wasnt ment 4 you......Your baby is being Made by Nokia as we speak. So leav the N96 Alone....!!!!!i woukdnt purchase the N85 coz it dosnt give me wat i need....!!!!

Anonymous, 14 Sep 2008Oh, Dani boy. You sounds like a cry baby, begging attention... moreAs of what Mobile-review said about Sony Ericsson they said 'Sony Ericsson have good youth appeal and eye catchy design'
that was in the W980 review
then i read 5310's review and they said 'it has full functionality with youth appeal'
oh yeah and the DSP chip
basically they were on Nokias side and yeah i know why .
but still ...yeah truth be said they are right about SE sort off

I bought a Nokia N95-2 8 GB.
Unfortunately, the phone seems to be faulty out of the box.
First I noticed that the sliding screen cover was a little loose and I suggested to myself it wasn’t a major problem and that an adjustment could be done to fix it at nokia service deparment, but the worst was about to come.
After charging the device fully I turn it on. A massage “start-up failed, contact your retailer” appeared. After 3-4 attempts the phone loaded and was working. It was a little slow and with some strange menu jumps at first but, after a couple of hours the phone restarted by it self and seemed to be working much better. I tried to restore the phone, using the N-Series PC suit program which I had from my other N95-2 but, unfortunately again, this attempt failed through the progress at 81%.
My last attempt was to update the firmware as that the new v.30.0.018 was available from Nokia software’s updater program for this phone. This action was installed successfully and made the phone working much better, but again you could notice that it wasn’t perfect and it has turned off several times by its self.
I’ve had NOKIA phones all my life including the N95 and N95 8GB so I think a can be in a position to understand that something is wrong or not.
8 hours from my purchase of this phone, made me hate it and forced me to give up and repack it.Not even the screen sticker was ever removed.
With all the respect, all the above mentioned are very honest. I think I deserve a fully replacement and not a fixing service. I have decided to will wait for the new N96 or N85 to arrive. I hope NOKIA SHOP accept my decistion.
