Ayman, 09 May 2009I really wanna buy this phone, but the loudness of the exte... moreIS a very nice phone, I was between this and the 5800, and the Amoled display and the 5mpx camera make my choice.. only 3 bad things:
1--- display get washed with direct sunlight
2... fingerprint magnet
3.. and regarding the software... in unmark and mark to delete a message o a group of message is not the option to select multiple and delete, is really annoying have to delete one by one...
Other thing, the loudspeakers are good, the music quality is great.. is fast... and the navi wheel is not bad.. have his secret.. you have too use it from the center... it remind me the the apple naviwheel when I'm searching song... and the AMOLED... oh my God.. what a piece of brightness, every body tell me, the pictures and videos looks better the my TV... I highly recommend it.

Does the slider thing scratch the keypad?

I feel my n85 speaker is fine, but n81 speaker is better. Why don't you just go to the shop, and test it yourself, n85 speaker is good for me, but not as good as 5800 or n81. the problem with 5800 is it is touchscreen and its camera.

I really wanna buy this phone, but the loudness of the external speakers is my first concern, that's why i'm currently having N73, do u recommend this phone for me or not?

I just bought a 2ndhand Nokia N85 and I start to like it after I know it has FM transmitter, I use it in my car, in my room, in my bro's car. And after I updated its firmware to 11.047, I feel there is improvement in the camera, i like my N85, but I wish I can change n81's camera to be 5mp, if that is possible, than that n81 with 5mp camera would be my very best phone, but n85 is not bad also.

Leo, 07 May 2009mine n85, bought a month ago, is so slow in processing. wud... more1) Please check ur phone memory .. If it is full, the phone tends to get slow .. so delete the unnecssary installations & data from phone memory .. and try..
2) Since, the phone is a Symbion one and handles multitasking, u need to close every application manually by EXITing.. otherwise the the background processes keep running which uses the phone's RAM and eventually the processing becomes slow ..

My previous post was :
I bought this device last week. Everything looks good so far. Great things about this device :
1) 5.0 MP Carl Zeiss lens - Camera
2) No problems so far with slide
3) Good Music Player, headphones.
4) A lot of others.
Some issues cause me a concern :
1), 2), 4), 6) Resolved (see previous posts for details)
3) The Naviwheel is a joke.
5) Wi-Fi doesnt work everyplace where laptop Wi-Fi works!!
Updates :
3) I tried this again after adviced by Gust. He is right. The only thing is u have to slighly press the rim to work as it is suppose to. However, I would disagree that it works as gr8 as the Ipod wheel.
5) I dont know what happened here but now it has started working fine. Probably, the internet was weak whenever I tried. Now its good browsing using Wi-Fi.
As far as liking the device is concerned, it has gone up and up and up. I started my review from 6 issues that I faced since day 1 and now after 20 days of experimenting on my N85 I have reached to 0.
I use the FM Transmitter everyday in my Car stereo. It definitely saved me money for buying FM Transmitter for my Ipod :). Infact, I no more carry my iPOD.
Also, how many people noticed the background black of N85 screen? I just set the screensaver to date and when I saw the date appearing, the black background is real pitch black. Hats-off to the AMOLED screen. I have never seen such pitch black on any other device so far. Amazing :)

I have updated N85 software with 11.047 version. I didn't find much difference after update. But I guess it is able to handle the multitask better than with the older version. Camera performance also improved (especially in low light conditions).

Ayman, 06 May 2009How's the audio quality of the loud speakers of this phone ... moreI have used Nokia N 73ME, N 82 & Currently using N 85. Nokia N85s external speakers are not as loud as Nokia 73ME or even Nokia 82. But sound through the headset is superb, even it beats Apple iPhone 3g in terms of sound quality through headset.
