Anonymous, 10 Apr 2009i bought this n85 from my friend and its made in china beca... moremaybe u can change the language in the seting,but you cant read chinese i ges...ok pres the menu button, then star, this will take u 2 tools, then press 5 which will take u 2 setting then press the midle buton, then again pres the midle buton, go up twice that will take u 2 the languages option, then go down an u will get a list of laguages..hope this helps

.I am using this nokia n85 and its quiet fast and reliable for me i think this phone is better then n96 because it is mucth more slimer and lighter then n96 and got all the features excluding tv

To all prospective buyers please do not put ur hard earned money on this piece of crap called nokia n85.
This is my personal experience. I bought this mobile for around 500 US dollars but had to sell it after 3 days at 400. No return policy at my place.
1. Loose slider,loose numeric keypad (believe me u can take it out just by putting your nail under its lower end), it is made of very thin cheap plastic. Battery cover is also loose with play.
2. Camera is worse than my earlier n82,lack of xenon flash,poor camera butten,fails to lock focus even on repeated pressing. Poor feel of camera button.
3. OLED screen very poor performance in direct sunlight.
4. USB charger- more wear and tear at single point. The 2mm charger is most durable.
5. Fm transmitter poor signal only a gimmick.
6. Slow fp2 interface,poor graphics(no 3d accelerator)just compare the photo gallery with n82 (n82 has a graphic accelerator and dual processor)
I had to revert back to my old faithful n82 which i think is still the best nokia smartphone.

in here select tools... the image with the spanner on.
when your in this view, select the middle icon, agin this will have a spanner on it.
now select General, which is the 1st icon in the list and has the image of a mobile phone with a spanner in front of it.
now, select the 1st icon again which will have a picture of to faces smilin and frown (like the oscars)
in this page select the album which is 2nd from the bottom of the list
now select the 1st option and choose the language you need...

I got new n85. It's awesome, Mp3 playback, pictures and for sure battery life. Comparing it with n96 it's like a day and night, reason for this is a not old technology AMOLED screens. Wich didn't drane battery quickly, when you're using mp3 player, or diving threw internet, like in old TFT screens. Damn, I'd felt in love with this thing :D

hey guyz...while putting the activation code for any pre-installed game (ngage) it first says. ."activating game" and then suddenly it says "HTTP Timeout". Could you please rectify this error please? Thanks!!:-)

my n85 is 2 weeks old!
within this period d phone has got hanged atleast 6 times... it happens wen i change d songs in d music player or wen pressing d captured pics option!
d power button fails to work n everything s stand still..so my ultimate option was to remove d battery! this happened even 2day!
i hv not installed much apps n i hv 3.5gb free space in memory card!
wat is d remedy for this?

Sabuj - India - Kolk, 10 Apr 2009GUYS - I purchased this h/s 6 days back & I liked all the F... moreI will try your theory out but as you seem clued up have you heard of any updates..I have had a few bugs but not saying ou cause it will escalate into a big thing,,the bugs are just minor irritations than big faults..The hardware faults like the bottom d-pad press is stiff cause of its gaming option in landscape its supposed to help but to me its a nuisance..I am not fond of charger its hard to plug in and as ive started using an s/e w980i to get away from smarfones for a while the colours are very strong on the screen and returning to my other mobiles the screens look miserable but beforehand looked spectacular..To sum up i have no problem with n85 with its good battery ecxept for niggles that are said above,,you cant complain its not sturdy just expect a colour loss in screen colour on future devices...

GUYS - I purchased this h/s 6 days back & I liked all the Features except the Picture Quality @ Night. I was very disappointed but gave a alst try with adjusting the setting & Finally I did it - the Picture Quality has drastically Improved.
Pls Follow the Instruction & set the camera accordingly & let me know the Result. Open the Camera - select Options - customise toolbar - Add shortcut - Add all the shortcuts available. Now press Back button after uhave added the shortcuts. Now u are in the image screen & ready to click but wait the setting is still not done. Select the option - select scene modes (2nd option displayed on screen)- user defined - change - Based on scene mode (select night portarit)- Light sensitivity value (select medium) - Sharpness (select Hard). Dont change the other options. Now u r ready to click Grt Pics in night or cloudy atmosphere. Pls Try out & let me Know.

nokia's symbian cell dont show names when the same number is saved twice or more with different names. just delete the name u know and then see

i bought this n85 from my friend and its made in china because the language settings is in chinese obviously. is there anyway i cud change the language settings to be english? pls pls pls help me. cos i cant use the phone at all.
