Helo frnds.I wanted to buy a phone this week.I was using N70 for last there years. My options were N95,N95 8GB,N85 & N82.Finally decided on N85 after a months research.Bought it 2 days ago.Updated it to version 11.047 using vista. No probs at all.Completely satisfied with the phone.Only prob is tht i cant hack it as none of the tricks posted works in this phone. So unsigned apps cant be installed as symbian has stopped providing certificates.Still trying....
Any Q plz do ask.I m fr India n bought the phone from Nokia priority dealer.

superb fone! owned for a week so far and loving it. i have the us version which is cool cause somehow i can browse at&t 3g internet for free in coverage area. why most people complain about cheap plastic? fone is for everyday use and plastic make it reliable more than anything. plus with dis fone u'll never experience dust under the screen. it has frameless lcd which is so scool. i just wish i has a better quality camera

husi, 26 Mar 2009hey thanx man!! and what about the pencil key option? ' n... moreThere is a "copy & paste" in N85. If you are in TEXT MESSAGE mode, you just need to press OPTION>EDIT TEXT>COPY or CUT. then a START option will show on the left button, just press it and use the 4-navi keys (left & right) to highlight the words you wanna cut or copy. same thing when you PASTE it. OPTION>EDIT TEXT> PASTE.

telstra here in australia are now flogging this grossly over priced nokia n85 phone.
with a keyboard not much bigger than a postage stamp, why would you bother.
            thats for a start.
given the swollen asking price, this indeed is a very ordinary product.
there much, much better valued phones out there than the nokia n85.

Most nokia phones today, including the N85 are manufactured in China. I am on my 3rd China made US version of the N85. The earpiece on all of them keep going bad!! Nokia keeps giving me a replacement! They are killing me. The hardware is made of cheap plastic and the camera performance is not as good as SE. The OLED screen is beautiful and the Symbian software has more usability than SE's proprietary software. The phone is pretty decent all around...when the earpiece works!!

Peterr, 26 Mar 2009Is there a difference between the USA and the international... morethe difference is the 3G frequencies. For instance, In US, it's 850MHZ and 900MHZ in Philippines. If you are in the Philippines using a US version phone and you are trying to make a video call locally, then it won't work since it requires 3G. But you can still make a phone call & texting using GSM network.

i have an N82 euro version or made in finland so it's 3G signal is not working here in US. Philippines and Europe(some countries maybe?) phone has the same frequencies.

I got US version of N85 & N958GB but there's no phone company that offers video calls, they got 3G network though.

                              ****
N82 & N95 8GB outstands N85 when it comes to camera/image quality but overall N85 is the BEST especially video quality.

                                        Hi Everyone !!!

Grate phone i ever use because i'm a PDA user but now i move to this phone,

if your planing to buy this phone i highly recommend you all, this time nokia add some more features and the battery life is so good sounds & the headset is superb also i use h.264 format for my videos the video is giving super natural look it's great but the main disadvantage is the camera not giving super quality as i wish but the pictures are almost super in daytime and the navi key is not sensitive but if you scroll smoothly on the navi square you can feel the difference also this phone is S60V3 so it contains a new file type(.sisx) but it recommend some .sis files too and this phone comes with MIDP 2.1(JAVA) so it will recommend mostly new JAVA games overall this is my best phone, you can get more experience with using this new N85....

                                        Have A Great Day !
