Please give genuine comments for nokia n86.
I want to buy this phone and want to know about camera quality and sound of this phone.
I surveyed some shops and they scare me about the slider phones and also that not much users buy nokia n86.
so please tell me about the nokia n86 slider.Is it working fine and also hand on experience for this phone.
Is it worth buying this phone?
Should i go for this phone or Nokia N79?

I thought the N95 recorded and played back videos with amazing details and audio, do you think this phone is as good or better

i used to have n85 now have n86,,anyhow i think these themes could be causing probs,,it does say on installing theme that it could harm your fone or fone is not compatible etc...If these themes have been causing nokias trouble that renders zedge and all third party themes redundant,,,it could be the cause of all the n-series ive had cause always used third party themes

I want to buy ... moreWhy dont you get n79 and if you dont like it swap for n86 or vice-versa..Some are saying n79 camera not the best 5mp cam but thats about it..I had a few crashes at beggining with n86 but that was faulty files and email went wrong somehow but after going thru nokias settings wizard email was fine but a bit different set up from other n-series....Thats my input really done battery/vid/cam/audio tests a few pages back and all very good,,just typical n-series but very good in my opinion that it..

I too looked round and read reviews and got n86. Had no problems its just like n82 just brighter more colourfull screen more mp.Brynn said earlier its like better n82 and I agree ..

The thing is in the beggining people were seeing this as an 8MP n85 which it is and isnt..Its got different set of algorithms and chip in audio department along with faster proccessor,,8GB storage,,active kickstand better flash an super optics ..The innov8 was out at the time and cybershot c905...s/e fans bought and fought for the poor c905 and innov8 seemed the better device..So the n85 in the beggining got left out..The n82 at the start got low vote scores as people complained about keypad and dim off white screen and they said it looked like a sardine can..look at N82 now it turned around and been one of the top n-series and now it looks like the n86 is following in its steps..Its only been in shops a few months and white version is on its way to srores sim free shortly boosting sales again..The as contracts end and the fone gets a bit cheaper its users will increase again..

Back in the days i think it was n80 nokia made a half cached feature of fotos in the gallery..What this did was as you opened up foto gallery the programme went ahead of what you were viewing and sort of half opened the picture,,this meant as you went along opening up pictures you did not have to wait as long for it to open as half the picture was opened and some fotos do have a blurred look and come into focus as you open up the picture..In the n80 it was opening up 3MP picckys with no auto-focus and big compression ratio so they opened up better and faster,,now were at 8Mp with all sorts of extra info and often geo-tagged fotos as well so it does struggle a bit..It goes to show that a rethink is needed with mobile smartfones to ensure good programming plenty of RAM and a decent proccessor are there to make these even more powerful devices run better...

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970You are a lot wrong in your statements because all the names you put are trademarks ie cybershot is sonys name for a camera they did not invent them and pretty sure philips invented the cd player with Marantz holding joint licences to produce them,,bravia and vaio are names for teles and laptops and you say sony invented them and the biggest laugh of all,,,sony invented the car stereo?????

Why dont nokia add a ram card slot alongside memory card slot..This upgradeable ram can be purhased from stores and you just shut down fone and replace the bigger ram kike you do your memory card..This could have saved the s/e p990 and solve many smartfone problems ...I think its a neccessity more than a speed freak feature its serious you know cause most of these mini computers with their many apps are ram hungary..

Thanks.Thanx Tolu,,i used to do my mp3 non stop tests in the past on mobiles to see how long they last and full screen video non stop too..Due to the n-series featuring feature pack 2 and newer chips this is redundant at the moment with 20-30 hrs from these devices in mp3 mode and the n86 doing 6.5 hrs video thats good enuf..The only non power save features are gps,,wifi and 3g mode which still use a lot of power however 3g on n86 is not as power hungry as EDGE mode here in uk,,it flattens my battery in about 4hrs web surfing on EDGE...

Its a very good phone but again the weight matters as usual in all nokia Nseries phones
