                  http://conversations.nokia.com/2009/07/30/head-to-head-n86-8mp-vs-n82/

This link helps a lot whether to get an N86 8MP phone. Very smart comparison. Opinions on this site will help you understand how far the phone can go and how important elements impacts the performance of the high-end smartphone. It will also tell how tremendous quality of photos you can get using it's sophisticated and superb lens. (I'm the guy who posted the first solution to restore the music icon, and the videos not playing after the V20 firmware upgrade)

.I am suprised by battery life under a big heavy day lasted 12.5 hrs before entering power saving mode..I did about 2hrs web on 3.5g ,,10 text sent recieved,,2 mms sent/recieved..32 minutes calls,,2hrs 20 music,,played tetris for about half hour,,other bits and bobs like time checks,,write some notes,f-secure scan,,calculater and others 10-20second items ,,in context it felt stronger battery than n82 of which this fone reminds me of..Its typical nokia where the first bar seems to last ages then the other 6 bars drop quicker so if to sum up so far it good typical nokia product,,one of the better nokias..

Request for full detail of my opinion >>Just like to share this..when I got the new phone N86 8MP,i can play mp4 videos, I updated the firmware from 10 to 11 then 20. Then I can't play the pre-installed videos anymore. Even the music folder went to a regular folder. So what i did, back things up, and reformat the phone-like restoring the factory settings. Surprisingly, the music icon is back-even the videos(mp4,3gp ETC) are playing as well-faster compared to before doing it, and hooking it up using the cable for TV-cause it was a little bit slow and looks like a busted video player. Now it works fine!

                            1) I back up my files(Well technically I did not..that why I lost all my ngage games, besides i don't have so much files except on the 8GB itself-have my music, themes and stuff.

                            2) I use the *#7370# almost like a reformat of the whole system.(Just like it it came out from the box)

                            3) Need to restart my computer to have installers and stuff to connect with the PC suite. hook up my phone.

4)I transfered all my mp4 videos to my phone, that's where i started to notice the music folder icon is back, i check the firmware it's still v20. but the videos are now playing fine, though.

                            5) What's missing are my games, good thing i didn't activated my activation code yet for one full game.

                            6) Videos working fine now. music files still intact, themes are installed on the 8GB storage, and reinstalled ngage applications.

                                to maclay and nemesis:
i made a hard reset on my phone pressing *#7370# but i did'nt able to backup my files coz it said memory full or something, i forgot hehe. but i still proceeded with the hard reset thinking that my previous backup files are still there. after the reset i tried restoring my files but it said no backup content available so i was pissed off. good thing all my contacts are in my sim card. that's when i noticed that the music icon is back and all the preinstalled videos works fine. well that's all about it,maybe its luck or something.

                                        to maclay and nemesis:
same thing happened to my n86 after updating it to v20 via OTA. the music folder icon went to just plain folder and some of the preinstalled videos like the prism, nova etc. won't play, i only hear the audio no video. but before updated it i made a backup of all my files. after updating my n86 i also made a hard reset pressing *#7370# coz i noticed that the update somehow messed up the rotation of the phone from landscape to portrait vice versa especially when the theme effect is on. after the hard reset its still plain folder for the music. anyways after some weeks passed i thought i should give my phone a hard reset again but this time i didn't able to backup my files, coz when i was trying to backup my files it says memory full or something. so i still proceeded with the hard reset thinking maybe the previous backup was still there. after the hard reset i tried restoring my files but it said no backup content available. so all of my files were gone that's when i noticed that the music icon was back and all the preinstalled videos were able to play. so that's what really happened, i don't know if its just luck or something.
