i was able to update my phone yesterday in Dubai with the new PR which includes the arabic built in software. unfortunately, its not online so i had to take it to a nokia care center and they did it for me in one hour time. it was good seeing people walking in after i got mine and they were all praising their N9 units.
after the update, the phone seems to be a bit snappier when opening the apps. still the same great feel to it. smaller things have been added to it like camera improvements, play button on the stand by screen, more refined options under setting, SWYPE ofcourse which is a neat thing..more languages...etc..
but a great update nonetheless as we dont see all the improvements like the makers of the software do..
the white N9 looks tempting too bad only very recently (prior to release of N9) i bought the BB 9900 for my wife otherwise i would have got her this phone for sure.
today a new game was released also on the unit which is a neat one (protoxide).
just for information, for those people who are complaining and trying to find an excuse not to buy it although they are dying to buy it, go for it if you really want it...it comes with most major apps. it could be missing a few aps here and there but life will not stop because of it.
the useability of this unit by far is the most exciting as you will not be able to put it down in all honesty. and its releasing a steady number of apps on daily basis and i believe we will have a major catalogue of apps for it in a short while.

jj, 09 Dec 2011so bad ,no memory card slat and moremy guy go for the 64GB n9.
This is the best phone ever produced by nokia. forget about what pple tell about the different platforms - what we need is functionality & not so much of what is uunder the hood. you will be surprised that what is under the hood is much too technical even for a technocrat. There is too much confusion in this business, mark my word.

Teddy, 07 Dec 2011No, the phone doesn't support normal sized Sim cards. It on... moremy guy this is not at all a problem. Your dealer should have a sim cutter handy to assist you.
Once cut do not throw away the balance of SIM in case you require a regular-size SIM to use in another phone.
Only Nokia can give you peace of mind.

chester, 07 Dec 2011Does any1 know where n9 64Gb version can be found in Joburg... moreI just got one and its offered by MTN as a bundle with 1·5GB data in NIGERIA.
Why not try MTN in Jo'borg.
To tell you the truth you no smartphone manufacturer can beat nokia's craftsmanship and reliability any day.
I got a Samsung galaxy S2 some 2 months back but malfunctioned after about 2wks.
Took it to Samsung service center in portharcourt but surprisingly it is yet to be fixed - even with 12MONTHS warantee. I think these people are here to rip us off.
Please stay with NOKIA ALWAYS.

[deleted post]That is half Nokia Half Window$; but if you had seen the
N9, that is the one who rocks, 100% Nokia!
None of the os available smooth as N9.
ask 4s user and it lag when pressing home button to close an app,
and androids home screen feels so slow and wp7 feel like going
backward on time.
I love my N9 man!

after using the N9 for about a week, while it started running decently, albeit with limited apps, lately my N9 is acting strange..it keeps asking me to log in my facebook/twitter password, and even when i do, it only occasionally updates my timelines. i'm finding it a hassle using this N9..and today, i could not open the store app..hahahaha. seems to me like nokia is not too keen on maintaining this meego thingy..does anybody else face these type of problems?
