Sallu,
i went to Nokia care in Dubai and they installed the new firmware for me (Arabic).
i think there is a way to install it online yourself but not sure how and from which website.
this phone is fantastic. the scrolling is so much smoother than any Android. the only phone which is in the same league is the iphone and you would expect that as they are the ones to come up with this UI look.
you see WP phones and all look the same just different OEMs..the same with Android phones (they look more like iphones infact)..this phone is unique. the only thing which is taken from the ihphone i would say although looks slightly different is the UI. in every other aspect it is unique. the buttonless feature. the swipe feature the 3 screen features, the multi tast features are a joy to behold. it is so sad that nokia is not promoting it near what it should because of their deal with MS. Samsung on the other hand is manufacturing for almost every OS under the sun and it has not made them lose focus! Samsung perhaps is the first company to realize that NOT all consumers will like the same thing which is 100% true. we humans were created to appreciate different things as we all have different tastes. some tend to like iphones, some like nokias some like samsungs and the same goes with the OS's behind the hardwares. if all men liked one typa girl in this world then + 95% of women in this world would be without men.. ;)
so samsung have realized this that you cant just shove a particular OS down consumers throats so why not build for everyone! they have 3 OS's running at the moment similar to Nokia but Samsung seems to be more focussed and are not trying to kill their best creation for a while like Nokia is!
with all the non attention by Nokia this phone is still attracting lots of interest due to its uniquness and beauty. Im enjoying the phone like i never enjoyed one before to be honest! because of its multi facet way of use and UI you just dont get bored of it. the limited number of apps so far, IMO, are actually very nice for my personal use and interest.
if you like this phone just go for it and i dont believe you will regret it. its so much more fun to use than the other phones IMO. Android is confusing, ihpone is boring, BBs are BBs, slightly outdated and really lacks decent apps, some people like the WP. im not gonna bash it as the tiles are just not for me (not at this stage..maybe in the future i will acquire a taste for it but at the moment, it looks very dull to me and i still like the icon style of apps).
the N9 is a great phone. i just saw that the white version is also out. it would be nice to see it in person but i already have the black one.
i think this phone is here to stay and the support will be there for it. i have a strong feeling that Nokia will revert to it after they learn from Samsung that you can manage multiple platforms with relative success for each platform. Nokia will learn that you can't shove a platform down people's throats or they will simply walk away and go for another brand.
interestingly, my last personal phone was a nokia phone which i bought in 2007 (E61i) and it has lasted nicely but i never thought about going back to Nokia as i knew their models were not up for it like the korean brands and ihpones even the newer BBs. but i really was not interested in an ihpone/android/BB (for personal use) and other phones. i looked at the xperia as their arc looked nice but then again another Android phone although it is a nice Android phone with a beautiful screen but there was something missing out of all those phones then out of nowhere Nokia releases this phone (N9) and it was love at first sight. very strange, i know, but very realistic. i could not believe i would come back to Nokia and buy a platform which many people call dead but i took the plunge and im very happy with it. I think the phone characterizes me personally a bit. i think many people who buy it share similar character.

Yesterday i got a chance to handle a lumina 800 in nokia stores in GOA (INDIA). Firstly I would like to salute Nokia for creating such nicely built beauty, one of the best designs any mobile company have ever created. Although I am not so fond of wp7 os, but going thrugh same was a nice experience. I must admid its way better than android os.(but not meego). Nice transitions and a fluid smooth feel. Now it made me wonder if wp7 is so good than how better will be my N9???....
BTW its 30,000 INR in india with pre-order.. Hope for the N9 launch in India too. Finger crossed!!!!
