The only way the... moreYup! and another thing that's great about Nokia is the update for their firmware which is mostly available from old model phone to the new phone model because of the specs they release. N8 only have a 668MHz processor and the Nokia 701 have 1 GHz which symbian anna and symbain belle is also applicable.
In the case of Andriod phones Samsung, lg...etc. They need to buy the updated OS again to Google before there user can have it. But i think that is a little too much for Samsung, lg...etc since this will cost them another big money and there gain is not so much because the user is not required to buy the same unit just to get the updated Andriod OS.

i am looking for the the successor of N900.
I want to have a phone with
1. Qwerty keyboard
2. Stylus for scribbling (taking notes)
3. Camers 5m/8m with camera sliding cover
4. Maemo/ meego os
5. 3.7 - 4.0 inch display with 16m colours
6. Secondary camera.
Rest of the specs i don't care.
Samsung Galxy Note has 3 of the above features but it's screen is too large for a phone.
Hope nokia produces such a phone.

It is available in Singapore already for S$799 (16GB) and S$899 (64GB).

The only way the android can differentiate themselves is by the specs. Thats why all the android phones are trying to cram in the most powerful processors even if it means no improvements to the performance and trying to have a screen Thats so big that it won't fit into your hands or your pockets. Its like a muscle building contest its all showing off and everybody is screaming 'looking at me' but in actuality no one knows how to put their muscles into performance.

Linux code of MeeGo and DSP (digital signal processor) onboard provides more power and performance then 1,5Ghz and allows 18,5 in standby mode!! Don't let you be fulled by silly numbers - pay attention on "playability" which is better, eg. 25 applictions can run simultanously w/o slowing down whole phone! (See presentations on youtube if you are from US and can't see this on your own eyes) Think it over.

Anonymous, 08 Sep 2011N9 rocks...but the processor could have been faster,may be ... morei dont know about you, but i dont think having 1.2/1.5 GHz makes a phone any faster....recently upgraded OS on my nokia n8 to BELLE (it has 680 MHz) and its not even laggy (although i have to admit that the interface isnt AS smooth as the iphone 4..)
since my previous iphone 4 which is 1GHz didnt run a lot faster than my nokia n8. i came to realize that for mobile phones, its all about software not hardware.....so im a bit surprised at how stupid people are for buying samsung, HTC, or other products touting 1.5 GHz.....its just ridiculous. ask any developer/programmer and they'd probably say something similar, if not the same.
this is how apple owned all the other manufacturer, superior user experience (not much option though..XD)

N9 rocks...but the processor could have been faster,may be 1.2 GHz or 1.5 GHz as there are many high-end Dual core smartphones up there...Anyways checking out MeeGo OS would be interesting....

wow! this is nice! as long as it doesn't have a half eaten fruit it will be nice! i think this will be a great addition to my HTC Desire S!

I don't know why people are so persistent to have Nokia change there OS from Nokia to Andriod. In case everyone miss one thing about Nokia and Apple is that they both pioneered there own OS, and this pioneering of Nokia and Apple put them to success before and now. For samsung, Lg, motorolla, htc and other phone that uses Andriod are all swimming in one pool that waits for innovation not from there own but from Google. I'd be dedicated Andriod fan as well if this was develop by either samsung, lg...etc. But this doesn't mean i don't like Andriod, i just prefer mobile phone that develop there own OS. And that's Nokia and Apple, but among the 2 i prefer Nokia. Because there OS is open to JAVA and Flash which is not for Apple.
