I have owned the n8 for about a year now. It has lots of buggs that are real annoying and are hard to fix. Nokia support is really bad.
On the positive note I finally got the phone working the way I want it to, and having a twelve megga pixel camera and HD recording is priceless.
If you want a faster processor get the N9, if you want a better camera pick the N8.

After webOS got on the backburner, now MeeGo is receiving a fatal blow with Intel freezing its development efforts citing lack of partner interest. When Nokia announced it will go the Windows Phone way, Intel vouched to keep MeeGo thriving on its own, but the market obviously had other intentions.

Intel will focus on what it does best, instead, and its mobile hardware platforms are likely to appear in Android and Windows Phone device flavors, rather than MeeGo.

As for N9, it's a different OS from all those out there. I dont care if Nokia dont support it, I will still get it. There will always be another latest Android or Iphone next year & the year after............

                                      Pros:
I'm currently testing a pre-release version and, trust me or not, it's a damn good experience.
Once I got used to the "swipe-only" paradigm, I started having... fun using the device. Yes, wow, not only practical aspects are covered.
If you were used to the N8, just forget about your bad experiences: nothing in common in terms of look-and-feel, response times, ergonomics. The N9 is just simple to use, with quite all what you need easily reachable.
The web browser is really excellent, making me read the plain old websites I'm used to visit from my PCs.
                                      ----
                                      Cons:
                                      As of today:
                                      - taking a picture requires to tap on the screen.
                                      - terminating an application by swiping-down is not enabled by default. One needs to enable this from settings.
The device will pop out in a limited number of countries, which means that at least US, UK and Germany residents will have to buy it through web merchants.
