At least Nokia designers are at least trying to be creative, you should look at SE's phones lately they're begining to look the same....

What? No vibration... :-(. It seem like Nokia is forgetin' the main function of a cellphone.
It really doesn't matter if it has Symbian or not, doesn't matter if it has a 20x zoom or a huge design, it's still being a cellphone.
I got to admit Nokia isn't my fav cellphone brand, but at least his latest crap (N-Gage) had vibration... Why did Nokia take a decission like that???
So, I guess N90 can't be promoted as 2005 cellphone, regardless all its functions it's still missing the porpose of a cellphone.
I still remember the AMPS (Analog) cellphones, one of them: Motorola Startac and this one does have vibration. So what generation you said is n90, 3G????

If Nokia releases his n91 in the first quarter of 2006 this phone will be out of date.I mean 4 gb harddisk is great but a 2.0 mp camera is pretty pathetic next year with 3.0, 3.2, 4.0 and 5.0 mp cameraphones coming up...
very dissapointing

Everyone.
Well...it has been 2 weeks since I bought the N90 and I have to say that I am very happy with it. I will be leaving this forum as it is in my opinion to much bashing and bad talking. It is not bad to say something negative as long as one can give a reason for it but here... oh well... And since I have bought a phone I do not need any more advice in choosing one.
Take care

The N90- One more Mobile for the sole performance inclined
Well I say this because i feel that is what the N90 is..It joins the list of mobiles where performance & features are the sole focus over practicality of use.I would place the N90 among the best when it comes to features & the list would be..N90,N91,7710,SE P910,SE S700 and so on..
The N90 was such a dissapointment due to its size & mechanical disposition, even the Nokia dealers here( not one but three whom I spoke to) put a sorry face when I asked them about the N90..They had stocked the N90 & had not been able to sell even 1 peice since the last 2 weeks..Infact they were sayin not many people are even intersested in the N90 in comin & havin a look at it..
Comin to point if I had to pick a few mobiles which do strike a balance between features & ease of use..Well i would say the N70,6680,6280,K750/W800,6230i...would definately be a few to start with..

Kamran.
I tested the cameras with a friend of mine (he owned the SE W800, and I the N90). We had a "camera stand" to make sure none of the cameras would be exposed to "shaking hands". All the pictures were taken as closely to each other in time to assure the pictures would have the same enviromental influence. The pictures in the review on this site had a different angle to them, which is not good because light reflects differently on objects depending on the angle you take the picture from. A "Camera stand" also ensures that the distance and light influence will be the same as both cameras will be at almost the same starting point. I do have to say the stand did reduce the "hand shaking" effect but since we could only "rest" the cameras on the stand and not lock them in one place there might have been some influence. Pictures were taken under different conditions both inside and outside. From a research point of view this test can not be validated in any way. It does not fall within the 95% marker (if your into statistics). But our conclusion was that there was a significant difference in results from the test on this site and our test.
Rune:
I haven't got the opportunity to compare the cameras as you did and I can not confirm or deny that claim. Did you do that professionally? Are you sure you were not "one sided". e.g. Mathew got both phones and opposite your claim.

I really love the video quality, and the sound is also good enough to record live concerts and such!

too many joints and bridge mechanisms. these usually are where the problems start. breakage and electronic failure are most likely to happen. the design of this phone stems from industrial adventurism. very impractical

This phone is a brick. Too bulky. Speed is as slow as 7610. No point getting a phone when everything is slow.

and btw.. this is also for you to know that nokia is not perfect.. that they also makes some bad phones as well.. even for one of the new ones. (e.g. 8800 is the most obvious one..)

pls don't get me wrong.. all that i want you to know is that expensive phone is not always that good since some of you seemed to be proud about how expensive nokia N90 is, and bash SE because they are cheap.

Once again Nokia has tried but has agin fails in making high picture clarity and high quality phones.Amongst my favorites is Samsung D500 and latest Samung E730 phone are very good in performance and style. In Clamshell design Samsung is clear cut winner.Had high hopes from this model but it has failed to be upto my expectation.

another photo comparison between N90 and W80 (it is not really a direct comparison between phones, ony pictures of the phones.. but if you want you can go to the N90 gallery because there are pictures taken b N90 and go to W800 gallery then compare it yourself)
