      Hi Kelv,

      Thanks for the info!

I am from New Zealand. Today I just bought a Motorola v1050 - an interim mobile phone while I wait for all the nice phones such as the n90 to arrive and drop in price, hahahaha.

The price of n90 is crazy here! I have the money to get one but won't mind waiting:)

Robbie, to check the firmware version, key in *#0000# and it will be shown. Which country are you from?

Looks like the N90 isn't released in Singapore today yet. Rare few who have the phone.

have you actually check the w800 and grab it to your hand and compare it phone to phone with N90? if you havent just shut up.
W800 is the sort of phone that you will think it is ugly if you look at the picture. The time when you realise that this phone is good is the time when you hold it into your hand. And every ppl has their own preference about phone. Maybe some ppl will like the 8800 design, but i doubt that if the exactly the same phone made by other manufacturer will interest them especially if the price is the same. Even if w800 isnt made by SE, the design itself will still interest me somehow, its not brand matter, its the phone that matter. To nokia fan here: do not worry, im a SE, nokia and samsung fan. for nokia: excluding the 8800 and 7 series only, other than that they are great

one more.. P860 already released in OCTOBER 2004 not 2005. its last year phone.
and all the phones that i mention are using 16000000 colors screen. I forgot about XCUTE whether they use TFD or not, but certainly that V770 is using TFD screen+optical zoom 3X and digital zoom.
can you tell me in what way N90 is better than those phone? because it is nokia?
and excluding these phones, the chart that i give you is pretty much is. so, N90 first and w800 is after that. all those phones only sold in korea and taiwan, not to the whole world.

btw, by the time the P860 release to the whole world, the price of W800 will be a lot cheaper than P860. in other words, you got ur information not exact

LOLXX... you are one year late man!!
if you are comparing to the whole phones by samsung you just too late..
first, you didnt mention the P860 in the first place, its more of nokia than that.
Nokia N90 is not a way better than P860.
Do you know what is that? do you know that P860 is using TFD screen, not TFT as N90 do?
if you are talking about that.. i would place Samsung SCH V770 in the first place with its 7,4 megapixel camera phone, and i will put XCUTE DV2 as the second one with 6 megapixel cameraphone, and the third one is P860. How?

ok lololo, by the way the name i use is invincible. i agree now that ive compared that w800i is better than 8800 but there is no way w800i the 2nd best phone after N90. The 2nd best phone has to be the samsung P860

                  w800 - 256 thousand colours
                  p860 - 16 million colours

                  w800 - 2 megapixel
                  p860 - 5 megapixel

                  w800 - polyphonic ringtones(40 channels)
                  p860 - polyphonic ringtones (64 channels)

                  w800 - screen pixels 176 x 220
                  p860 - screen pixels 320 x 240

                  w800 - no tv output
                  p860 - tv output

p860 beats w800i in every aspect and i
guarentee it will be cheaper than the w800i when it is released but i think N90 is way better than the p860 and doesnt look ugly like the p860 or the w800i!!!

                    Kelv,

I just went and saw the phone for myself at the local shop. It is smaller than I thought!:) But I was trying to figure out how to check the firmware version. Could you tell me?

Also, the font size looked quite small on screen. Can you adjust the size?

                    Thanks mate!

i think these are the top 5 phones, the rest of the phones are a waste of money
                      1 - N90
                      2 - N91
                      3 - D600
                      4 - 8800
                      5 - 6230i

the only thing apart from the crashes and reboots that i HATE about N90 is the battary life I fully charged it at 2PM then i went out and by the time came to 10:30 pm the battary went flash and when it goes to 1 bar it shuts off quick not like other phones give u about 40 min on 1 bar and if its off it never comes back on until u charge it my other phone if the bat goes sdead u can leave it for about 1 - 2 hours and use it for 3- 4 mins
not this one doesnt even start SO IF U BUY N90 BUY THE BL 5 B battary THIS IS A MUST

I've posted an update on my post on the camera capabilities of the N90.

Will do part 2 tomorrow, with the main focus of the review of night photograhs under natural lighting and the effect of the flash.

Series 60 does not support the sms in txt format. It is only recognisable by the phone itself, unlike the other series 40 based platforms.

Yes, memory card can be selected as the base memory for text messages.

The N90 now supports RS-MMC cards, whether it is of 1.8v or 3.0v nature. This has been a correction made beginning from this phone.

                                Kelv,

Oh really? You can choose to store them on the memory card? That is great! I didn't know that.

Is the file in txt format or? I had to buy software to read and backup my smses before when I had a PDA phone.

                                Thanks for your help mate!

                                ^_^

Robbie, the sms is theoratically unlimited if you choose to use your memory card for them. 1kb = 1 sms.

You can backup your sms by inserting your memory card into a reader, accessing the system folder -> mail.

Copy the entire mail folder into your computer.

By the way, does your phone hang often? It shouldn't because you have v2 firmware/software. Please confirm stability issue, thanks!!!!
