actually its maybe u not have activate all application catalogs yet..before install preenv u need a complete catalog first.r u just buy this phone???if yes u need to add a catalog first.
firstly u open your application manager,then click application manager icon at the top,choose application catalog.then u click new.after u click it,it will open a page with 4 blank boxes.fill it with this:
-Extras-Devel
-http://repository.maemo.org/extras-devel/
-fremantle
-free non-free
type it with correctly,n do not tick disable.
after u have type all this,click save.it will go for checking update.
secondly after all is clear,add another catalogs.
fill it with this.
-Extras-Testing
-http://repository.maemo.org/extras-testing/
-fremantle
-free non-free
dont cl8ick disable n save it.it will go for check another time.
then after all is clear,add another catalogs n fill this in blank boxes.
-Extras
-http://repository.maemo.org/extras/
-fremantle
-free non-free
then click save.

Have u installed root.sh before typing sudo gainroot??
If not, do the following:
(1) connect ur tablet to Wi-Fi.
(2) install root.sh (from application manager with all the repositories enabled)
(3) Open X_terminal & type "sudo gainroot"
(4) type "apt-get install preenv"
the procedure worked fine for me, hope it works for u too..

with the internet on the h/s but it still doesnt get installed ... pls help me as i want to download some games on the h/s .. im helpless
otherwise the phone n900 is too good ,, ilove this phone dude .

You can directly connect USB Flash drive,keyboard,mouse,external HDD to Nokia N900 using USB hostmode.This feature is not officially supported but it works great.Follow this tutorial to enable USB host mode--

Guys, am havin' a serious prolem :(((((((((((((((((((. When I set my bluetooth 2 on, it doesn't switch. When I enterd the settings, they asked 4 "enter code to remove operator lock". What should I do or where is the code(location) :O ?? Am waiting 4 ur reply friends :S
