Hi everybody :)
i wanna buy a mobile phone and i'm hesitating between the n900 and the n97.
well, can u plz tell me wether the n900 is good for a boy of 17 yrs and are there enogh games, applications or themes to download for the n900 conpared to the n97 which has a lot of themes and applications.

      one more,now my phone cant play video,songs,n picture.when i get in media player,it said no songs,no videos,n no picture.its like there a zero memory.like nothin on theres.actually theres a file inside memory.hope u can help me for another time.really need it.thanks.

          Ans 1:- the secondary camera can be used for video call/ video chat & runtime picture taking. The latest PR1.3 firmware update allows u to do video call/video chat by providing separate control for that. U can have video chat option in the "crochik my contacts" application also. The application "mirror" allows u to take pictures with front camera. The quality of the image is not promising though.

          Ans 2:- The application "Live Focus" allows you to control LED lights while recording the video. download & install it from Application manager keeping all the repositories - extras, extras-devel, extras-testing - enabled.

            Is there any way can i have this phone to able to do 3G videocall? I bought it at a 4 figure price and with Nokia having the title of the almighty in the mobile phone industries, i expect it to have at least a 3G videocall capability. I would just settle for a Motorola v3xxx or even a sony G900. But with the wifi and and qwerty design all, i thought, what the heck spending some of my year end bonus money for this device.
            But it seems that it is more like watching Street Fighter the Van Damme version, the game was hot but the movie sucks!
            Any of u Nokia lovers have any idea how i can upgrade my N900 to be able to do video call 3G and not just Skype?
            p/s: i am a motorola user

                (1) sudo gainroot.
                (2) cd "path to the directory containing .deb files"
                (2) dpkg -i "file_name".deb

                  Thanks for the detailed installation procedure..

                  However, if u already have the .deb files for any application/games, it can be installed directly even if you don't have "preenv" installed on ur tablet. Open x_terminal & type following commands to do so:

                  (1) sudo gainroot.
                  (2) change the directory to where u have copied the .deb files. cd
                  (3) dpkg -i .deb

                  Any .deb file can be installed with "dpkg" command mentioned above.

                    Hello, well this what i did to install preenv.

                    1 - install faster application manager
                    2 - open it, then go to INSTALL APLLICATION
                    3 - look at the battom - right, you'll see something like S and C letter, click on the C letter ,, a menu wiill pop up, go to the battom and click on ALL CATALOG,
                    4 - and open your keypad, tape preenv and you'll see preenv and preev-... and you can download it their, after load your debian game file from file manager to install it.

                          Please be aware before installing any kernel power packages. some packages are bug prone & may cause rebooting problems (I have faced such).. Please study the threads on maemo.org & warning messages that appears at the time of installation very carefully..

                              I recently acquired the N900 and followed all the posts, I installed fmms, crochick contacts, mirror, fm radio, qcpufreq, uremote, www2sms. I even installed preenv and most of the games.

                              All the above is working fine, except qcpufreq, I open the appl. I enable the smartreflex services, by ticking the box. I then select settings and I can't enable overclocking, it's there but greyed out. how do I get it to work?

                              My software is as follows V20.2010.36-2203.1 RX-51

                              Thank you all for your assistance in getting the most out of this device.

                                where r u stay?im also from malaysia..kepong,kuala lumpur.mybe i can help install the game for u...

                                bcause its a bit hard to add catalogs in application manager like extras devel,devel dll.n u also need to know about usig command in x-terminal..need to careful bcause in past my phone had a problem n cant switch on just bcause ive deleted the software by typing command in x-terminal..or,make sure u r typing the command that have been listed..dont try any further.

                                  lenandes, 24 Jan 2011what the different between repositories - extras, extras-de... moreExtras & extras-devel repositories are for the develpoment phase application. i.e developers at maemo.org are still developing the concerned application. extras-testing are for the verification/testing of applications/tools that have passed the development phase. Once anything is passed in extras-testing, it becomes OFFICIALLY available..:)

                                      while using the command "apt-get", you must remain online (connected to internet) to work it properly. & make sure you have enabled all the repositories - extras, extras-devel, extras-testing - before doing so. If not, follow the below link :

                                        im from malaysia.how about you guy ?
