while using the command "apt-get", you must remain online (connected to internet) to work it properly. & make sure you have enabled all the repositories - extras, extras-devel, extras-testing - before doing so. If not, follow the below link :

firstly u need to go to application manager... morehey guy..thank for the help ya ;) im facing some problem man..when i key in the command sudo gainroot : it write Root shell enabled,but when i type apt-get install preenv.it write couldnt found the package preenv..any solution on it ? i download lots of game d..but can install it without preenv..it write missing file..how can i get preenv installed in my baby N900 ?
im from malaysia.how about you guy ?

hey guyz need help
can anyone tell me dat whenever a call comes the volume is very low on the phone so cant really hear wat oder person is speaking in traffic also there is a lot of prbm.so wat can i do to increase d volume.
also d battery is very weak how to enhance battery life.plz reply anyone who knows d soln its urgent.

stopping of download may be due to many reasons which depends on how u download. the primary reason of this is the internet connection. Have u checked that whenever ur downloading stops, ur net connection has also been disconnected. if this is the case then its purely a network issue (cellular or WLAN) which can be resolved by keeping ur device in an ALWAYS AVAILABLE network area until the downloading is completed.
Secondly, if downloading stops & ur connection has NOT been disconnected, then it depends on from what site u r downloading the contents.. for example, if u download youtube files directly from youtube, U may face this issue. to resolve it, install application "cutetube" in ur tablet & download any youtube file from this application. If u want to have complete movie download via torrent, install application "transmission" & u vl be able to download any movie tha way we download on our PC through torrent.
lastly, since the most early versions of the firmware of this tablet had many glitches, u might face this issue due to those glitches also if u r using that early version. So i recommend u to update ur tablet with latest firmware. Here is a step by step guide to do so:

I have updated my tablet to the latest firmware (by following steps given in the link above) & have been using both the above applications very frequently without any problem.

lenandes, 22 Jan 2011hello gamer =) nice to heard from you tat n900 cn play lots... morehi lenandes,
firstly u need to go to application manager,and select download,and choose 'all' category.then slide your phone n type 'rootsh' .download it n let it install automatically.after all is clear,type 'openSSH Server'.click on it n donwload n let it install too...close it.then open your x-terminal n type this command:
-sudo gainroot
-apt-get install preenv
wait for it to be installed.
then forgot about your phone,let it aways.go to your pc n make sure that u r connected to internat on your pc.go to this link

u can download your games there.first choose your game then download it to your pc.after finished download you will get a.rar files in your downloads files at your pc.then WINRAR it n you will get a a file that contain .deb files.
after that connect your n900 to your pc via usb cable.then copy that .deb files to your n900.after copy is done,eject your phone from pc.
now back to your n900.open file manager n click on the files that have u copy.only click on the .deb files only.it will automatically open application manager n let it finished install.after it said '1 application succesfully installed'.close the application manager.
open your menu n you will find your games there.
but do rremembered to install 'rootsh' n 'openSSH Server'first.without it u will not be able to install your games.
So,just that.please let me know if it succeded okay...

all of this game is really awesome n not so hard to install it.
i really want to thanks to HARDIK n ANONYMOUS.this 2 people had help me so much.if u got any problem can ask them.they r experts for n900.
