I don understand why you get so pissed when one says bad things about the phone you like. If you wanna see only good comment, how are you going to know it's weakness or strenght? And if a smartphone isn't abt web browsing, speed and capacity, then what is the point of calling smartphone? Or you buy it just to hack radio and change tv chanel? AND YES SGS CAN DO THAT. Go check again! Dont be a kid; accept the bad points and make it better. I regret spending my time explaining this to you. Grow up!

Yes, it can play AVI file, man. ... moreso why are u on this forum? go to the sgs forum if u like that so much. samsung make cheap plastic tow with gps problems. the only good thing going for it is the screen and processor. if someone is looking at an n900 an all touchscreen is not an option. if people knew what to do with a smartphone besides web browsing, calls, texts, app downloada, and games then they would know the difference between what an n900 can do versus the rest of these phones. its no comparison. it hacks into radio channels, cell networks, televisions and stereos, ps3s, and when an android fan talks that junk.....i multi boot to android and show them i can do the same thing they can and more. nothing like the feeling of changing someones tv channel when they get to running their mouth about how cool of a device they own.

does this phone support 3g and video calling?Because as per the official specifications of the phone it says video calling option will be announced later.

Its not that I take side of SGS, but it seriously is the best one out there, and you know that. Plus, I don't buy a smartphone to watch video or for entertainment. SGS web browser is really fast and the speed of the phone, plus the screen size and super amoled and gorrila glass. SGS is thin and light. Nokia lacks those stuff which are most needed by users. And one more, I don't wanna slide my phone up and down every now and then. Think about it, bro.
P.S: just opinions for prospective buyers

Anonymous, 18 Jan 2011Yes there is an android that can play any .Avi file you thr... morehey bro!ive check out this 2 phone that u have mentioned.but,what can i see is it media player can go max till XVID only...not all AVI is XVID.so,it cant play AVI viseo files...but HTC touch pro 2 n touch 2 can play AVI files..u can check it.i really wish to change my phone to android phone that have qwerty board and can play AVI video files...if theres someone could tell me which phone that have such a critirea like above.it will be awesome.pleaze tell me..thanks.

probably U don't have root access that causes this problem. Install root.sh first from the repositories & then type "sudo gainroot" & then try "dpkg" commands.
Also, make sure that the packages u r installing with "dpkg" commands are completely downloaded, u can use "wget" command for that..
To install the wget command, connect to WLAN & type "app-get install wget".
it should work then..

If yes then first gainroot.then type in exactly what im writing
Apt-get install preenv
then if the extras package is in the phone the preenv installation will start.after it finishes do the procedure u tried before and it will work

opinioners, 17 Jan 2011what du u mean by that?we will not get a chance for android... morewhat's the point of using Nokia and having Gingerbread? It's just like Android phone right? Nokia is symbian. Nokia really needs to do sth abt the poor design and its look, really poor, comparing to other phones out there. and yes i agree to the other post that E series are the best phone for business. but when it's down to touchscreen, Nokia is poor. Anyway, at least N8 doesn't have the Pen!

im installing gameloft games on my nokia n900 using terminal x. it appears not to be sucessfully installed. dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of gameloft-asphalt5. package preenv is not configured yet. dependency problems - leaving unconfigured.
WHAT SHOULD I DO? thanks!
