Hi Guys,
I feel very bad by writing my First bad experience with Nokia.. :(
I love my N900 tablet very much.. So I felt more bad when something went drastically wrong with it a week ago..
I was watching a movie on it & suddely, it started rebooting.. I didnt understand what happened so I removed the battery & inserted it again & started the phone with power button.. But.... BANG......
The phone never started on Since then.. I googled for this problem & found that there are many people like me in the world who have experienced such thing. I was more surprised by the fact that Nokia never spoke about such defect.. I found one solution from Nokia Europe support & ran the flasher program in rd mode to flash the ram.. BUT, Nothing happened..
I finally went to Nokia care.. Since, I bought this phone from UAE, the Premium nokia care here in India refused to take my phone..
I am a Nokia fan so i felt more hurt when i had such experience with device as well as care center..
Finally, I decided to send the phone back to UAE from where i had purchased it.. i hope they will consider this phone in warranty period (i bought it in oct 2010) & will either send me the fixed one or the new handset.. or else, i will have to accept this hard fact that my money with this tablet has drowned off..

Hi ppl,
I'm a bit confused which phone to buy. I want a good performance smartphone with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and an open source operating system. I eventually narrowed down on three models:
Nokia N900 (Maemo)
HTC Desire Z (Android)
Motorola Milestone 2 (Android)
Desire Z looks great - except that it has a dodgy slide-out mechanism that looks like it might break any day.
Milestone 2 is good, but I heard people complaining about its battery life and also, here in the UK, hardly any service provider seems interested in selling that phone.
That leaves the N900, which looks fantastic in every way. BUT, I have some apprehensions:
1. It has a resistive touchscreen, so my fear is, it might keep responding to every random pressing while it's in my pocket. How bad is that problem?
2. I visited so many shops here in UK and they all tell me that this phone as well as Maemo have now been discontinued. So is that going to be a problem if, heaven forbid, if something goes wrong and I need customer support from Nokia?
3. It looks a bit too bulky (especially thickness).
Does anyone have any comments about these issues? Many thanks.

Plz people help me. I am confused. N8 or n900? I think nokia has stopped working with N900 application. Is it true?

It's usually your firstname.lastname for example george.smith. You can find your facebook username under your account details in facebook. Good luck!

Doubtful...., 17 Dec 2010I'm interested in purchasing the N900, however i was told t... moreN900 and N97 are worlds apart. I changed from N97 to N900 and can never imagine going back. N900 is Nokia's best work by far. It's the most customizable device on the market with all the necessary apps a serious user needs. With MeeGo around the corner and N900's ability to dual boot you know this device has a future as well.

N900 is a awesome phone were you can see future programs...maemo will bring the latest generation programs in this model..buy it.

I am not able to setup facebook chat in my n900 but google talk works well. The error says as "Username or password is wrong" while it works for google talk (same credentials for both the accounts)...Pls suggest how to go about...its very essential

After wiping the phone and reloading all the software, a PAIN, I still had the problem. In the end, I removed the battery, memory card, and the SIM card, counted to 13 and reinstalled same, and the problem went away. Good luck.

Hi, Guys,
I accidentally crashed the camera software while updating software. Could someone guide me step by step to reinstall camera software alone. Now if I open the lens cover, it says "operation failed." Many thanks!
