im sick and tired of nokia releasing such high end handsets and they get outdated at such a low time limit - they have done the same thing which was done for the nokia 5700 xpress music few years back . im never going nokia again neither s.e. and im not an idiot to go for i phones too . so long nokia

to the guy who have asked a question about x6 and n900 -

remember n900 is the best out of two fones but both fones os's are outdated the n900 os was outdated becuz meego was released , and x6 symbian outdated cuz google android is released . both of them are a waste of money if ur going for a fone that supports a lot of apps in future but as fones they perform really well and n900 is better than the x6 . htc hd 2 is the way for me to go i guess .

Anonymous, 01 Dec 2010to those who consider to buy N900.. Its a good handset, but... morethe G2 alright but not what u make it out to be. Android phones are fast until u start downloading apps. Just wait a couple months and u will surely see lag in your device. Killing tasks are darn near impossible because when u kill one 3 show up running. Glad you are happy but i have been there and done that now on to top quality! No one builds phones like Nokia! HTC builds plastic toys that become obselete in 6 months. matter fact without a front facing cam and 1 ghz processor your phone is already outdated. U will get software updates but so what. I have an n900 and a mytouch 3g that runs 2.2. dont have 4g speed but wait til u want to tether. can u say $15 per month in the US. Android is not open as people think

I want everyone to know I have had my N900 for about 3 wks now and am in love with it. The battery life is the only thing that bothers me. I have had several smartphones from symbian to winmo to android. Alot of people jumping on the android bandwagon and thats the reason I jumped off. I was an early adopter and preordered a G1 a couple yrs ago. I remember being laughed at by everyone who saw it saying their phone looked better and does more. Especially iphone users. Now when I look around everyone who laughed now has an android device. I hate followers. My first smartphone was a Nokia 3350 or sumn like that which introduced video to the US back in 2003. I have been loving nokia phones since. I am a proud owner of the n900 and an E73. i know android like the back of my hand and feel it is a very nice os, but never seemed as eye catchy as the iphone and gaming sucks on it. Maemo 5 might be at the end but I have not looked back at android and dont plan too. My wife has the Vibrant which displays gorgeously but p,und for pound the N900 is the champ. Lastly, its hard to keep up with the latest greatest andrid because they put out so many devices every month. if u want sumn u can keep for a few yrs iphones and nokias never get old to me

[deleted post]to those who consider to buy N900.. Its a good handset, but very outdated by now. I was surprised how much faster my HTC Desire Z is, even if the processor is only 25% faster.

Wait for N9 if you really want Linux power (just be aware of the keyboard slammer, it sux). Do not get N900 unless you find a used one for a fairly low price. Online auctions in europe shows some very cheap N900 for sale, i even seen some who could not sell for starting price. N900 owners are realizing that its hard to sell so prices are going down still.

Bye bye N900. And bye bye Nokia.

I still like my N900, but after 2 days with HTC Desire Z i am sold. Almost everything is better, smoother and more responsive and overall it feels faster. For example, using maps/gps is a totally different experience on the Desire Z, it scrolls and zooms instantly. Browser has a few things that is not quite up to the N900 internet tablet heritage, and surely android has more limitations than real linux, and google's presence with their ads in android apps is a pain in the @ss for someone who is used to full linux freedom.

overall, a slimmer faster device with bigger and better screen, better keyboard and whatever, i cant resist it, so my N900 is being retired.

Why bye bye also to nokia? Why not wait for N9? Simple explanation, the N9's keyboard mechanism is same as N97, i cannot live with that, its too painful and looks too s2pid when it tilts up whit a big bang. If nokia releases a linux keyboard phone with a usable mechanism i will be back, but that will not happen before late 2012 i guess.

is this phone outdated now cuz the n9 came u gotta be kidding me right ? why the hell nokia is releasing so much phones and its like they release a successor version of the same model for every new phone they release . so that the people are wasting too much money on unsuccessful devices right ? and then again they have to collect money for the successful next device in case there device fails .
