Hey.I have no idea on which phone to buy. I just bought a C6 phone 2 months ago,and it was damaged. So now,I'm saving up to buy a new phone. Can anyone recommend me a phone?

nokia has introduced a good mobile n900 good features .....nice os .but the preformance is to poor.. it works very slowly...

Anonymous, 27 Sep 2010What Is meant by debian?You can place image file of Debian LXDE and use its application within Maemo (OpenOffice, Gimp...). Image file is 2GB lagre. To have it you should install Easy Debian and Esay Chroot. More info is on http://wiki.maemo.org/Easy_Debian.

Someone asked about Skype. It is integrated the same way as facebook chat and google talk. I made some skype voicecalls over wifi and 3G and they worked OK.
Nice free dictionary is MStardict.
Free out of the box navigation is Ovi maps, but doesn't have voice guidance. Also there a several navigations which are using openstreet maps. They could be found on maemo.org. Paid navigation is Sygic.

lenandes, 27 Sep 2010i just hope nokia will make more useful application for Mae... morego to maemo.org for many apps for n900.
also install easy debian and then you can install and then you can install large amount of applications made for linux based os no matter its ubuntu or anyone else..
laki this you can get quite good and exciting apps

i just hope nokia will make more useful application for Maemo 5 N900 because i just brought it 1 week ago..now my phone full with the old appl already..want free navigation,dictionary, and so on..someone have idea on it ?? thank

Anonymous, 25 Sep 2010I am planning to buy a smarphone for my boyfriend who only... morewith regards to ovi maps, you can download map data through ovi suite. but the maps for maemo is not as good as on symbian phones currently. imo the lack of voice navigation is the biggest missing feature. also you cannot use the "search" function (eg searching a house number and street) without an internet connection. the map data is there, so you can manually search through the maps (ie moving through the maps with your finger). obviously this only works if you are familiar with the area you are searching for, otherwise ovi maps is rendered pretty useless without an internet connection.
the email client is pretty good. it was able to download my entire mailbox seamlessly. however, the main missing feature is to be able to mark multiple messages as "read". when i downloaded my whole inbox about 1000 messages were marked as unread. i had to manually open each one...which was quite annoying to say the least.

You can sha... moreyes facebook is very well supported on this phone, though we still need a proper facebook app (currently we need to use the fb website, which can be cumbersome at times). but sharing files via facebook is very simple and works charm!

you can download map data onto the phone via ovi suite like the symbian devices. though there is no voice navigation feature.
as for youtube, there is no official youtube app. i am not sure if there are any apps that work well as a youtube client.

Facebook users have a good deal with the N900.
You can share photos and videos easily.
I had an mp4 music video and the N900 converted the file and posted it straight away to Facebook with no issues.
This phone is a multitasking God,it can handle heavy multitasking with very little slowdown. I've had the media player,photos,internet,messaging,and a game running altogether with no noticable slowdown. I also had about 9 programs on the go without slowdown.
