2@, 12 Jan 2013your microusb port has come lose from the print-plate. It ... morei dont think so, the micro usb would be a problem if it isnt charging through it, replacing the battery and still having problem means it has something internal prob other than tha micro usb slot

Power button is not working
Took it to a local mobile reparing shop
They said IC gone
N they cant repair it
Or mayb its a hardware problem

i want to try the dual boot with and... morei was interested in installing android, but a few things made me stop thinking to do it, like for instance, using the camera button of n900 as the regular android back key, the unlock button for home and the volume rocker for search and options :/
and im like comeon mannn, i will be using the back key like a million times in a day, and i dont want to ruin my n900 camera button for it :/
and android is a bit laggy and doesnt support all android apps, and calling doesnt work, only sms works, and a few disadvantages too which made me convince to stay at maemo, im waiting when all the keys will be available on touch like tablets have, rotating and buttons moving to the orientation made, this will be worth the change to android, but now its just for tesing and getting a taste of android on this monster :)
as far as for hacking im afraid i dont knw about it

Just now i got this monster .... moregoto the application manager and goto install, there u will find apps for ur fone, u can add more apps by adding repositories in the catalogues option, add extras testing and extras devel and other repositories, (umm sorry for not pasting link, u can do some searching n900 repositories)
then install "faster application manager" thats more faster and better than the original application manager, loading and downloading the catalogues takes long, but once ur in u can access all apps easily :)
open media player
prismatic
documents to go
conversations desktop widget
profile changer desktop widget
sticky notes widget
media player widget is already there
opera
battery graph
om weather
search tool
these applications are all what i need and my fone works like a champ :p
well u can install apps according to ur use and requirements/interests

everyone who thinks their n900 is gud for nothing, but they want this to work as all other fones do, like in portrait mode, and single handed use, and have proper apps, and use front facing camera usable, this post is for you...
n900 is a monster dude, a monster for sure, DVD premium quality video display, qwerty keyboard the best thing, slide, damn perfect, its just everything we love, but the fone donest compete the rest, this is how u can make the most of it...
first of all i recommend to hard reset ur fone if u have bought it second hand, or its lagging, or it has lots off useless apps, or anything else, hard reset it and bring it to factory made state...
update it to PR 1.3 (if its on PR 1.2) this can be done over wifi wireless so its an easy thing, then after the update, goto
http://maemo.org/downloads/product/Maemo5/cssufeatures/
then install this cssu update, then let it reboot and all, then goto cssu features, then select z axis forced, and viola, this is portrait mode for ur n900
as far as for apps, u just need some apps depending on ur use, and what u want

i think these apps suite me best ;)
