And also is there any software updation of Maemo is expected in next future.. as it works only landscape mode not in portrait mode....auto rotational function i m talking about like this function is available in Samsung Galaxy S and HTC Legend and iPhone 4..
Please update me on my last and this query.. it would be a gr8 help...

hey guys can I have just purchased this phone last week only and i got awesome experience except one of the prbs may be i m new to this phone or like that..
so i need some help from the guys who owns this from quite long so can any one tell me why the keypad pannel gets scratches while u open and close the touch slide.. i got few scratches .. tell me wht to do.. n its only a weeks old phone and more over i got one probs like whn ever i switch off this phone i need to open the battery n thn i have insert only then it gets switch on...
and yaa i m nt able to see skype in this .. how can i find it.. n can any one update me whether in india this skype and voip is legal..n how can i use internet telephony...

Big advice NEVER NEVER go on a Windows operating system. You will experience lots and lots of crashes restarts etc.. Been using the N900 now for almost anything and it cut my usage on my laptop for at least 50% except for online gaming ;P Gogogo Nokia

Tried the sony x10 android, but its not something I feel at home with. Not a fan of android, but since I recetly got the x10 sony, don't want to make another wrong decision, should I get the n900? Or wait for something better from nokia? I am also looking forward to a win7 based phone, I want a phone which can be as close to a laptop as it can be,I hear this about the n900 called a mini laptop

N900 is not just like any other nokia phone. N900 is a linux based phone which runs on maemo platform and is different in terms of user interface from the symbian phones. I mean you should understand the usefulness of linux before planning to buy it.
Comparing N900 to other devices like N97, Samsung wave isn't fair. There is no way internet tablet can be compared to smartphones. They both have their own pros and cons.

This can open at the command prompt compressed file like .bz2, .rar, .tar, however, you can uncompress file on computer and transfer to device. Video playing time is not much, 4 to 4.5 hours at the most. However, spare batteries are cheap 550/-. Sound quality exceptional and the best repository of Linux software. IMO, if you believe in playing with ur phone, nothing can beat this. Hardware is rock solid, so you cannot burn it while experimenting. Firmwares and tools are available for reinstall.

Too bad Nokia is not continuing the MAEMO/N900.
I'm sure it will be loooong time before I replace it.

... morewell i am currently using the 1930 mAh battery which i purchased from ebay. just query for 1930 mAh high capacity battery etc. in ebay, you will get the product...
well with the original nokia battery, it never last for more than 24 hrs with little usage..leave alone 48 hrs.....
btw i found a solution for the battery indicator issue, i installed couple of other battery indicator programs that seems to work properly....let me use it some more time and get back with more info...
