I face the issue of gettin ... moreif your point is "the R ear piece is louder, that is normal, coz the left earpiece is designed for BASS,
if your listening to songs that has a lot of bass and low (tone or pitch, not volume) music, the L ear piece is likely louder than usual.

hi,all i am using this phone.its awesome.overall 9/10.
but i have a lil issue wid it.i m unable to check my balance and recharge the balance.
commads like *#92702689#
*#0000#
*#123#
are not working.Experts please help me out.

ayava, 19 Mar 2010Guys, Do you have issues with using headphones other than ... moreWell, since it's just an earphone, should work fine, but it may have some problems deppending of the blackberry earphone plug conector. Even it's same way P2 earphone plug conector might be something inside it.

Regarding the headset issues..
I face the issue of gettin the sound through one ear piece only(being the 'R' one) when seeing some dvdrips I have on N900..like the sound balance is more on the right ear piece..lyk you can the talks of the video but on the left ear piece only the background music..which not much to be heard..though I have tried other headphones also but still makes no difference.
Anyone facing similar issue?

Do you have issues with using headphones other than Nokia's?
I only hear a buzz in that case.
I'm also plugging the N900 headphones into my blackberry, and I hear weird noises too.
Just contemplating on whether I have to return this unit...

another question is , where can i find my wall papers in my N900 that i've downloaded it from ovi store ? coz i went to my photo and it wasn't there !!

Positives: great camera, truly multi-tasking phone, filters your sms into contacts
Negatives: quite heavy, battery not adequate - having to charge everyday, display freezes between portrait and landscape, touch screen not quite sensitive, cannot perform mail for exchange - compatibility under development, factory installed software requires updating almost immediately as some apps will not respond to commands, no app for sat nav

Nothing beats this phone for what i want from a device. E71 sounds more like your cup of tea. I had one and their excellent, very practical, pretty good on the web (especially with opera mobile) great battery life.

hey guys,
i remember how much i was looking for someone sharing some experience about the phone, so now thta i have it for a few hours, here's my input to others looking for information.
for the record: i've changed from a BB Bold 900.
weight:
indeed on the heavy side, but absolutelhy nothing to worry about.
screen:
the bold has a sharp screen, but the n900 beats that
it is extremely responsive to touches, but to be mentioned that it is more responsive in the cdentre of the screen than on the edges.
still, i would really doubt there is much difference in user experience between this resistive and a capacitive one
keyboard:
i'm coming from a Bold, which i must say has THE BEST keyboard around.
the keys of the n900 are very responsive to touch.
the keyboard is a bit too wide for my likings if i type with my thumbs, but it is perfect if you lay the phone on the table.
what this phone does not have (and the Bold does) is an indicator for when the function or the caps are locked, so you are not always sure in what mode you are if you had to type some symbols.
for the rest i think it is all about getting used to it. love the arrow keys
apps:
actually quite surprised - quite enough apps out there, including fm radio
email:
quite easy to set up.
my problem was that all my emails in all my accounts show as unread. that would be ok if i could select all and mark open, but i can't. still have to figure out what the least time-intensive solution would be
(btw, ctrl+a and the likes work almost everywhere. even ctrl+z for umdo!!)
and anotther thimg, no push emails

are you kidding? this is a beast!! i seriously did not expect browsing could be such a breeze. and it can handle absolutely huge pages without a problem at all!! just magic
maemo:
this is a pretty cool os, but you can see it's a newly born.
i am used and like to have as manh options for customizations as possible, and with this os they are quite limited (so far that i noticed)
for speed - it's ultra fast. no laggings whatsoever!
still camera:
was expecting a bit better quality, so don't expect to do poster photos
video camera:
looks like daim good quality, one issue though: if you focus one metre in front of you when you start shooting, it will stay with that focus seng for the full length of the video, with all objects a bit further away beimg blurry
what i would take from my Bold?
the keyboard and the push technology, the resgt can be dumped ;-)
overall, very happy i have it

This phone was mainly designed as an internet tablet so net would of been the first thing you should have looked on this phone. if you want a basic phone then get one. now when people get smartphones its more for apps and internet related things and phone second lol you should have done your research. lol sounds like the phone is confusing because you are ignorant and if you had done your research first you wouldnt have %35 on what you paid lol thats what you get.

Oh yes, the touch screen is horrible. U spend a lot of time just pressing twice or three times to do one thing. SMS is a nightmare, not as fast due to touch screen. Pitch black screen makes it more unattractive when on standby. Th new Maemo 5 is a myth, completely non-sensical if you ask me. Those who have it, admit all my views and be honest to your self and others here, any one can make mistakes, and this a a " You made a mistake Phone "
