this phone is wack, nokia have completely flopped it and have lost their way, what is the point in releasing a top spec new phone that still doesnt have a capasitive screen? and has new software that just has a floating desktop to position apps? really disapointed with nokia.
nokia need to release a medium size (pebel style) phone thats built like an (8800 serocco metal and glass) with a capasitive screen, then release there nokia music store as a program for pc mac so people can back up sync and get software updates for all there phones like itunes,
if they did this i think they would be back it the game,

its not having the recyclebin option.unfourtunately if i deleted any image/message/contacts.so i can easily restore them

hello everyone i have some questions about the n 900 . The first question is can it be hooked up to my big screen tv for gaming and does it have microsoft word in it ?

If I connected My pc to hotspot shield..(and that is I have only one modem in the house which supports wifi) and I connect nokia n900 with the wifi..will the internet which I use through the nokia n900 be through also hotspot shield as on pc???

And another thing, how long can i use the net on a fully charged battery?
My last question is that, i inow that you can have google talk and sky embeded in the contacts but can you embed yahoo or msn chat in it? I mean can i chat with my friends from home screen in msn and yahoo?

The device is great. I constantly using it throughout the day and didn't failed me once. As for battery life after the latest update it only last me 16hours long with my extreme usage. Of cause it will run out in 4hours if you running GPS and wifi, playing 3D gaming or playing AngryBird the whole time. Only a fool would do that. I tested ot by running up to 10apps (fully optified and optimised) from the repo and some from the extra-devel. The old firmware served me over 36hours. but the new firmware served me from 12 to 24hours long depend on how much i used. As the cpu is 600mhz beast, of cause the bigger faster cpu would consume more power. The OS allowed full multi-tasking just like the desktop computer. The tasks are running live at the background. So every process uses cpu and RAM, which meant using battery as well.
Comparing it to other device other that has better battery life that is because those phones doesn't support multi-tasking or putting all the process to sleep while not using. which meant it cannot do more than one instruction at a time. On the other hand, the N900 can do multiple tasks at once. Full flash support, Mozilla browser and a Nice 32GB internal memory + microSDHC support upto 32GB.
It's a really nice and simple designed device. But there are a few flaws to it as well. OS is not yet at its 100% optimised and so are the features and applications. But it's not the biggest held back for me. I love this device. It completely replaced my Win7 laptop. i have not used my laptop once since i got it.

I am saving up for this device. I love the dynamic way it accesses the internet.
On the subject of batteries I recently bought a pack of four AA Ni-MH rechargeable batteries for use with my son's remote controlled helicopter. Each of the batteries was rated at 3800mAh. That is about thrice the rating of the N900 battery. Would it be too difficult to reshape one of the AA Batteries to fit inside the phone or is it that Ni-Mh batteries are unsuitable for use with a phone?
Nevertheless it seems as if high capacity batteries are difficult to make for cell phones. It certainly appears that manufacturers - as clever as they are - have not overcome this difficulty.

the battery is so bad i connect to charger whenever its possible, i always try to do full cycles with the batteries but its useless with n900. i consider myself a heavy user and two times a day charging is guaranteed with this phone, other than that its a good phone, wish the speakers sounded like n95/5800 though
