Anonymous, 18 Oct 2009hardware specs are unlikely to change... at this point only... more[better camera]... and it'll also make the device more expensive.

IMO N900 is great value for the money.

Not many ppl will think the same as u...Unless u r working as a tech in Nokia. Then ur words would be helpful. U are confirming everything before ACTUAL LAUNCH!!! Funny!

Nokia fans, 18 Oct 2009Im just Hoping!!! In the review specs of N900 in here alrea... morehardware specs are unlikely to change... at this point only some minor software changes will be done

        - and with the battery... the current one has already proven to be enough to be in par with average phones
        - ram and processor is also more than enough since I've read that even with 6 apps running and 9 browsing windows it's response remains the same
        - camera... would have been great really, but this is not a dedicated camera phone so adding an 8mp camera will only make it heavier, bulkier and more energy hungry

Farhan, 18 Oct 2009thank you. I have done my reading across the net. But i co... morewell... there are actually 4 unlocking methods so here are all aver again (positions are located with the phone in portrait mode)

              to unlock:

1 - sliding the qwerty keyboard down: takes u to the screen that was on when it locked
2 - sliding the unlock slider down (located right in the middle of the right side of the phone): takes u to the screen that was on when it locked
3 - pushing the on/off button (on the upper side of the device right on the middle): takes u to a screen that has the current time and below a sliding thingy (just as in the iphone and on the n97 to answer calls while it is locked) after sliding it all the way, takes u to the screen it was on whet it locked
4 - opening thee lens cover (on the back and to the right): opens the phone app

hope it clears all your doubts

Well i dont think there will be any problems changing or adding the following:

                  1. 16GB storage, external slot flash up to 32GB. 1GB Ram.

                  2. 8MP pixels camera, since theres n86, dual led flash, video light.

                  3. Maemo5 or 6.

                  4. MMS features.

                  5. FM radio.

                  6. JAVA.

                  9. Battery life 1500mAh or more.

10.Charging via USB from computer or laptop and covers for covering all important holes to prevent dust etc…

Nokia, pls make good phones now!!! Not 1 model 2to3 versions phones!!! Before u cant connect people switching to other better specs phone/Brand!
SAMSUNG over NOKIA, NOKIA take over MOTOROLA then tats the end !LOL

I have done my reading across the net. But i could not find that information.
But thank you for sharing it with me
So basically when it comes to the unlocking there is an option like the iphone when i move the slider across the screen?
and by opening the cover of the camera it unlocks and
what is the dedicated unlock mechanism? and how does that work?

                          - with the power button (takes u to a slide thingy like on the iphone),
                          - moving the dedicated unlock mechanism (takes U directly to where u left it) and
                          - by opening the camera lens protector

Also since this phone is coming out at the same time as the HTC HD2
which one will be the better choice?
and will/does this phone have a lock screen to protect it when it is in my pocket?
and also will this phone have an option to block the data connection from my carrier?
because i want to only use my wi-fi since i will be under a wi-fi 24/7
