Anonymous, 06 Oct 2009Dear Deep Space Bar, Maemo is NOT desktop Linux. I'll... moreLOL iphone fanbay,LOL

N900 does have koffice and some other free edditor i've never heard of and the main issiue with linux desktop apps is the UI, porting is a piece of cake.

How can you call iPhone business classs :)) Iphone has a class of it's own "Stupid American Class" LOL
Browsing on that resolution is a nightmare and considering the lame performance eg. the camera you must realize the OS is simply incapable to do more.

Considering the low screen resolution, vga filming and 3.15 megapixels (2048x1536 pixels) don't you wonder why it can't go above VGA?

I'll tell you why, the OS isn't up to it!

Either way to ruin your day, here's a screenshot of N900 running openoffice:
http://forum2.mobile-review.com/showthread.php?p=821590

Remember two things, noone cares about framework apps run on a mobile ex quickoffice on iphone AND

"Deliberately antagonizing other brand/model users will get you banned."

READ THE RULES, you're an Iphone fanboy, go at the Iphone section and tell everone how good it is!

Have a nice day!

Deep space bar, 06 Oct 2009N900 has koffice it's linux based so i can view and edit do... moreDear Deep Space Bar,

    Maemo is NOT desktop Linux.

    I'll repeat so you'll understand:-

    Maemo is not desktop Linux.

It does not run desktop Linux applications such as Koffice which uses the KDE runtime environment.

You'll be pleased to know that Bell and Telus should have the iPhone in November if you thought you were seeing lots of iPhones before, now you're going to see a whole lot more.

    Won't it be great?

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970So what should I do with my N82?

Or the 2760 I gave to my grandmother?

I have bought two Nokia's and two iPhone's in the last couple of years so it's pretty even.

I was thinking of grabbing a 3120 as a gift for someone.

This N900 is almost as good as an LG Arena except it can't do MMS.

Until the N900 gets Word and Excel editing it is no good for business use.

            this is so damn funny!!!
both, iPhone and N900 are among the best at what they where designed for.... period

I bet if we look at the target group for each phone you guys will realize that this fighting is nonsense and plain stupid... since they were not designed for the same purpose

            I'd had to say
iPhone is trendy, great UI, eyecandy, plenty of apps
n900 business, multitasking, and, as far as I can tell, amazing OS, and promising apps

KJ, 06 Oct 2009I have the Nokia n810 and absolutely love it. It's basicall... moreI've used an N810. basically it was a hanging piece of junk that failed miserably because of it's really poor performance.

Nokia even knew this which is why they upped the hardware specs on the N900 to match modern smartphone's like the iPhone 3GS.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Apps that will edit Word and Excel files for one thing.

The N900 fails at this business class feature.

The LG Arena is better than the N900.

I have the Nokia n810 and absolutely love it. It's basically a pocket computer. It has a great web browser that displays a website as it was meant to look (with embedded JavaScript and Flash). I like the slide out keyboard, the device has replaced a notebook as my note taking device at meetings and conferences. It's also got an excellent video player which I use a lot on planes, trains, etc.

iphone's are cool, but if you're looking for a device that's not locked down and that you can play with a bit, the Nokia is a good option. I'm very excited about the n900.

Nokia keep giving us bits and bits, this phone is what the N97 should have been. Nokia always make you feel like if you buy their expensive devices it would be outdated in a few short months when the next big thing comes out.

Anonymous, 05 Oct 2009Wrong Most noobs will prefer symbian over maemo That's true maemo isn't indeed for n00bs and that's partly the reason they keep coming here and blaber about iphone, sony, android, kings & queens and other brands.
They simply don't get why the fuss is all about this big bulky black phone they don't know anything about and that strange sounding operating system it has.

If you're not even if your first university year technically oriented prefferably, a programmer or some other kind of geek this ain't your phone.

Really this device isn't something to get to impress your classmates. Just get an iphone!
