N900 is grt phn,its gud that nokia goes for maemo 5 I was fed up with symbian os..Maemo 5 looks awsome,specialy multiple home screens and Swiral zoom in thou it looks fancy..1GB application memry is grt,also Kinetic Scroling standing out N97..it can fast multi tasking cuz 256 Ram and maemo os..
So....Im gonna buy a phone in diz December,letz see if this or Omnia 2 fitz my pocket..

As long as you accept that resistive screen is okay and the lack of multitouch, this phone is great
I can see the success of the n900! euro 500 N900 is cheaper than slow n97 and released just one month since the announcemen
I accept the resistive screen, but hope nokia keep working hard to bring the multitouch tontheir future maemo based model, mutitouch is useful when typing on onscreen keyboard and zoom and gaming
n900 makes my day! Maemo os is the best Linux os on phone!:)

Anonymous, 29 Aug 2009compare it with samsung i8910. don't know what these nokia ... more1 GB application memory (N900) vs 256 MB application memory (Omnia HD)...
We have a winner! Why do you think multi-tasking is so smooth on the N900???

This phone looks fantastic. But, I've just been on Nokia's site for it; http://maemo.nokia.com/n900 and it says that the headset it comes with is the WH-205. Go look it up! I think it's a bit basic for a phone of this calibre, since the 5800 ships with a 2-piece music headset, with play/pause/skip buttons.
Surely that's not correct?

If this is capacitive screen, the Maemo hacker will hack the os to add multitouch

Maemo high end phone will kill the symbian high end touch nokia phones !
Maemo make symbian look boring and outdated!
Capacitive screen will be annnounced this nokia world or next year, I do believe nokia can't make all their touch phone resisitive screen! The nokia 's love afffair with the resistive screen, please stop it!

This is indeed one of the most capable phones out there... I hope Nokia would launch something like this but with AMOLED capacitive touchscreen and a camera with more than 5 megapixels. =)
