i have the same restore problem as mangesh but thank god i had my contacts backed up in another way but i lost the messages the settings and everything actually i dont knw y did this happen the back-up and restore were both done succesfully

Hi Guys
This more of a question than an opinion,I got the N91 1 week ago with the version 1.00 and I noticed that it really hangs a lot, I went to Nokia Care center to have it upgraded to Version 2.00, the problem is I failed to back up the data on the HDD specifically the pre-installed videos form Live 8 concerts. Will this be erased after the upgrade ? if so, when can I download such data. Please help. Haven't checked the fone coz its still with Nokia

I have got the following problems:-
1.Sometimes the hard drive fails to read which makes me nearly unconcious .Solution :-Restarting the phone really helps
2.Sometimes it hangs while typing messages or browsing menus ,and it doesn't reply anymore ,not even "click sounds" .No solution so far but still :- Hold the camera close to your ear and listen if the hard drive is working ..If yes ,then wait for it to be silent .Then remove the back cover and battery and restart.
I thought i should inform u guys .I am from India .I purchased it for Rs.23000 (2nd hand from a friend ,got to tell ya ,he was really terrified when it 1st hanged .
But ,It is a great phone otherwise .You cAN use camera while listening to music and the music is beyond excellent ,provided you have good stereo headsets .

Hi
Yes version 2 is good. Aditya I have ha dno problems with the HDD. Did you follow Mmans steps (format etc)?
Lee: 10 Hrs?: Make sure your WLAN is not on or in show availability, you do not use HDD for messages etc. As for slowness I suggets upgrading to 2.00 and also using the sms accelerator (see my previous posts)

Mine is now extremely slow, think it has picked up a virus. Battery life is less than 10 hours. What can I do

first of all thanx a lot for the reply glad to recive your valuble help
now nokia people are replacing me a n91-5 bcoz they do not have n91-1 any more to replace here in india so i have to accept the n 91-5 .my n91-1 was giving problems even after replacing it thrice.nokia people say that if you delet any data from the HDD that much space remains occoupied.i was unable to understand wot they ment by this and they said that its due to a bug in 1.00 and 1.10 .when i enquired about version 2.00 they say that its not avilible yet in india.my previous 91-1 was giving problems with HDD and display.it was showing HDD not avilable and when it was connected to the pc it was not showing anything.i had formatted the HDD couple of times(may be 5-6 times of FULL FORMAT)does that affect the working of the HDD?and once i downloaded a gigabyte of music at once(copied a folder of 1gig to mymusic folder)there were about 300 songs in 1gig bot after refreshing the music library it showed only 150 songs and the space occoupied was a whole gig.is n91-5 more stable than n91-1 coz 91-5 is lighter than 91-1 due to wi-fi difference?

i guess 2.00.052 gives problems with the HDD .all version are havin problems with HDD .nokia should launch n91 with flash memory so 90% problems with the handset will be solved

You said you are using PC suite 6.81.13? I am not very familair with it since I basically gave up on PC suite years ago with previous Nokia devices.
My advice - do not use PC suite for anything other than sychning contacts, calander and backing up DRM rights.
Did you use Nokia Audio Manager in PC suite to load your music?

What i think may have happened is somehow the update was interrupted (did you answer a call?). Now you have a phone that is half programmed. I do not believe the phone is damaged in any way but unfortunately you will probably have to bring it in to a nokia centre. Tell them you were using their new NSU (Nokia Software Updater) and you had an issue - Im sure they can fix you up under warranty and free of charge!

Yes I believe the magnets in you pouch are confusing the magnet sensor on the N91 and it thinks someone has removed the battery cover without powering off. As protection it shuts down the HDD

HELP ME PLS!
i download Nokia Software Updater form nokia.com i start to update my firmware but after 2 hours the blue lines stoped at about 80% at step 3...i wait half hour and disconnect my phon...due the update my phone at one moment automatic turned off and after that moment i can't turn on more my mobile. Can explain someone what i must do now? When I try to Update my firmware now my Nokia Software Updater don't find the phone but when i connect the usb on my mobile in my pc on device manager appear this 2: Wireless Comunication Devices

Now when i press the power button there nothis happens. no light from my mobile tunred on.

After the upgradation when i m goint to change the theme ,my default theme and new theme is going to be mixed. when i switched off my phone and turn on the new theme working proparly.

I have a one difficulty with my phone that i was back up my phone memory before the software upgrading , after upgrading when i m trying to restore all my data again i observed that lot of data specially my 400 messages was going to disappeared. why its happening?. I have LATEST 6.81 pc SUITE VERSION. PLZ DO GUIDE ME.

I suspect The magnets in your pouch are confusing the N91's sensor and it thinks the battery cover is being removed and it shitd down the applications and HDD to protect agiants someone popping out the battery with power on.

Hi all,
I've been getting error messages 'closing applications' or 'switch off device before removing battery'. This happens intermittantly when I place my phone in my pouch. And reading some old posts, I came across a reference to there being a magnet in the battery cover. Now I have a hipster belt pouch which clips close with 2 magnets. I'm almost sure these pouch magnets are the cause. Maybe?
Anyways, I just thought I'd share this.
