Nokia should not hope that this would cut down ipod business. At its extremely high price (I hear it is over $AU1,000),the best Colour Ipod at 30GB (in Australia) + quite a decent phone combined would get out way less than this fancy gadget. Nokia better put the price as down as/near Ipod's mini (now nano) to get any competition at all in terms of the current market. The bottom line is it is not worth it for the time being but yes, there are hopes for the future.

The iPod will most definately lose some of its business to this phone, however, it probably won't loose much, due to the high price. but as music phones continue to evolve, improve and get cheaper, apple will start to feel it. they'd better do something sooner rather than later.

i like this phone thwe 4gb memory is something new but this phone is a touch too expensive the i-mate JasJar which is by far the most advanced cell if you consider the features actually comes in cheaper! the p990 when it will be launched will come in cheaper than this phone and its price will soon fall to half the price of the nokia n91.........although i can afford a n91 with ease but why over-spend when i can get better phones at lower prices? i mean c'mon guys the overall advantages and the biz features of JasJar/p990 are far better than the ones offered by n91....no offense to any of the fans out there

There is a guy In the Uk who is selling the Nokia N series at low rates plus International shipping.. seems like the best place. Payment is only Paypal and Stormpay. But their Minimum Order is 10 Pieces. Thats Kinda Hard for everyone. There is also a seller In USA near New York who is selling N91 @ 90$ per unit. but the order quantity is minimum 20 Pieces. But friends beware of scams from Africa. I am going to buy N91 on Dec. The phone that has the capacity to store over 3000 Songs. Cool!........

I should add, contrary to my last post, that 18 month contracts do work out cheaper for some people. But generally they're only worth it if you think the minutes and texts you get as part of the agreement are worth sticking with for 18 months, and that you won't want to change your handset for quite some time =)

2 year contracts may well be very popular in the states. But not over here in the UK/EU.
18+ month contracts aren't what they're made out to be, if anyone offers you anything more than a 12 month contract, and you can afford a 12 month, don't take it. An equivelant example would be taking a loan out for 7 years instead of 5. You think you're getting it cheaper because you pay less at each interval, but overall you pay a lot more.
The cheapest way to get an expensive handset is to pay out initially. The higher the tariff you go for, the more you'll be paying overall. Work out the line rental multiplied by the number of months then add the rice you're paying for the handset, i can almost garauntee it's cheaper to go for a £20-30 a month contract and pay £200+ for the handset. Than pay £50-75 a month, (or £20-30 over an 18 month period) and get the handset free.
bottom line is: if you're not going to use the minutes and text allowance of the tariff, dont go for it just to get the handset cheaper. 18 month contracts play on consumers lust for small payments, just like all the adverts for companies offering to settle all your debts in one loan. it'll work out more costly in the long run.
I cant vouch for other EU countries and countries outside the EU. But until dealers like carphone warhouse have a handset available, it's not available. They have the monopoly, if they want a handset before anyone else, they'll get it. Because they will pay extra to get things exclusive.
if you see a handset for sale elsewhere, chances are it'll be a foreign handset and won't comply with your country's specifications. You also wont have any manufacturers warranty, because if your phone is a foreign spec handset, your native branch of manufacturer wont touch it with a barge pole.
However the retailer is bound by UK law to help with warranty issues while the warranty lasts. But you'll probably find retailers of these foreign handsets will be less than helpful, or they have no idea of the implications of selling foreign handsets.

Hi yall, Just wanted to try and find out, is this phone available in the UK yet? I have searched the providers and havnt seen it yet. Vodafone said it should be out round December. There is a guy on e bay that tried to sell me one for £140.00 I said no because I think thats a scam, too cheap for a new phone.
Let me know.
