To Dan: congratulations and celebrations; it's great when an N93 works well. Could you tell us what your firmware is (key in *#0000# to find out)? To Babdi: did you upgrade on your own via PC or internet-direct-to-phone via the Softwear Updater. Nokia say that this method is faulty and one should go to an authorised Service Centre to upgrade. In this way the black and white video recording will not be encountered.Oh yes, the N93i is out and I am presuming that Nokia have solved the firmware issues of N93. I am puzzled that they nearly weigh the same (N93: 180g and N93i: 163g) and that the dimensions are not strikingly different (N93: 118*55*28mm and N93i: 108*58*25mm). In fact the N93i is actually wider! I wonder why Nokia did not radically reduce the bulk. Would it not have been better to upgrade firmware and stabilise the existing N93. I guess Nokia will stop producing the N93 and will leave the N93i as the only option. Note that the N93i does not have stereo microphones and the keypad is not as generous. It certainly does not have the presence of the late great N93.

Hi,I got N93. Great phone, and very big! I insert sim card and memory card.It says offline, i tryed different simcar still it says offline, ansy suggestion.

I got N93 on 15th January. Great phone, and very big! I wanted to update Firmware but I read in Nokia Official Page that the Firmware Update for this phone is "frozen" since November 2006. The Software 'Nokia Software Updater' (NSU) doesn't offer the latest version of the Firmware, which is 20.0.058. Where can I get it?

My personal review of N93
I've been using both N92 and N93 in the past few days, and trying to compare them
I think its almost as impossible to compare both devices as they look "same style" of device,
the N92 does not support USA TV which is very disappointing (only in Las Vegas)
N93, Great battery life time, one of the most slickest "biggest" phones I've ever used,
The video camera is an amazing quality, pictures at parties, evenings, & other places that a digital camera would just pick up the pictures very bad resolution or just unknown visuals, the Nokia N93 will pick it up amazingly & videos came out in DVD quality.
The web browser is very quick & found no problems with it,
Supports everything and unlike N92 the N93 does have vibration application
Support youtube.com videos (java powered)
Carl Zeiss Optics camera.. as I've written before... amazing pictures/videos.
WiFi Connection which I (NEW YORK RESIDENT) find it to be wonderful I can pick it up anywhere.
& plus to that, this kinda of phone everywhere I go people look at it !

I read that the n93 should have a 300mhz CPU but mine is only running att 206mhz.
Anyone who knows the right information or is my phone bad or maby nokia is trying to fool us around. I used the nsysinfo program that is posted att this site to check my n93 please check tours too and tell me if my phone is bad http://my-symbian.com/main/index6.php?cat=6

I wish to thank Nokia on the splendid effort they have made in bringing VGA recording (30fps) to mobile phones. Before the birth of the N93, phone camcorders were rubbish. The N93 raised standards by a great margin. Those of you who complain about the weight (180g) and size should remember that pocket-sized camcorders such as the Canon HV-10 are larger and over twice as heavy (440g). However I an certain that Nokia will work hard to reduce size and weight so that all you guys out there wearing tights won't feel threatened!! A more serious matter is reliability issues. I cannot get the Web browser to work. Evidently it is a softwear issue. Yet on going to Nokia's website we are told that we cannot use the Nokia Softwear Updater for the N93 because of technical problems. It has been out of use since Nov 3rd. When will they sort out this problem? Does anybody know which is the latest firmware??
