M@T2, the famous Madpanas also talked of the new (ie American) N95 having a VGA screen. Is this true?? The famous Andy Burgin has spoke of an 8GB N95i?? Is this true?? Which one is which or are they in fact one and the same?? Has Nokia used the Europeans as a testing ground only to bring out a spanking new and improved version for the Americans??

hey im in Australia, i got this mobile 4 weeks back. my opinion abt this mobile is that its no good for the penny u pay for it. as far as the camera is concerned 5MP- it is said so. it doest give the real clearity on the picture quality on a 2MP SonyEricsson.
Then GPS- it really great n handy when it get connected. But getting the link is ??????
Battery drains off if i listen for 30mins.
Otherwise this phone is really good for if u use as just a phone.

The 5pm camera is really 5pm. not software needed.

And why listen to the sales department from another company talking about the N95? Obviously they're gonna dis the phone cause they want you to buy an 02.

And Canadian HSDPA is actually 2100 so... That new model is only good in america

New variant of Nokia N95! Compatible only with AT&T's 3G/HSDPA frequency 850/1900 MHz, 128 MB of RAM, increased 1200 mAh battery. This will actually be the U.S. version of the N95. Therefore it's not compatible with Europe/Asia 3G networks. The 1200 mAh battery cannot be inserted in the original N95 because it's larger in size. The U.S. version of N95 has undergone some design modifications to fit the 1200 mAh in the device.

                      Hi y'all

can anyone help me out, i've been trying to get the best deal for a new N95, obviously i dont wanna pay for it and would like to stick with O2.

but the geezas at o2 have twice told me not to bother with this phone, with one guy saying the camera is the equivalent to a 3 megapixel and the other guy said you have to increase the pixels with some software of something and its actually a 2 meg????

this is there sales dept so i was willing to give them some business but they both slagged it off.

whats this software issue? is the camera really 5 meg.

most of the reviews on this site have been positive to wicked

so, has anyone got any independant camera reviews. is it worth a punt or what cos i really like this phone and these s0ds are putting me off.

                      help me please guys

                      ta

It is really a very stupid phone i bought it for $1243SGD and now the trade in price only $400SGD

Madpanas, are you certain about the "new N95" with 128MB RAM, VGA display and 1200mAh? Where did you attain your info from?? Furthermore, if there is really a new N95, will it house the GPS Sirf Star III chipset??

Yah you can download the maps via your pc and then transfer them over USB. That's how i did it. I wouldn't even consider using GPRS or even EDGE for that matter... the map DL's are HUGE. I've got over 1GB of maps on my phone... but that's cause i travel a lot.

Sorry i should have explained my question better. i know that you can actually get the maps free but what i was wanting to know is if ther is a way on the N95 to get the mapping without going through the GPRS because this costs and goes ontop of a cap. But with the NOKIA 6110 nav phone you can turn off an option on the phone so that you do not get used for using the mapping. ???

Own both, Nokia N95 and Sony Ericsson K800I. Yes, N95 can do more stuff, but...
                                  1) battery is really bad
                                  2) software is still too fresh - keeps freezing
                                  3) GPS isn't really that accurate
                                  4) voice quality on SE K800I is by far better than on N95.
                                  5) even though N95 has a better camera, you won't be able to tell the difference between both - quality is the same.

So... for those who are geeks - go with N95, but make sure you have extra 2-3 batteries with you. For those who need a PHONE - SE is the choice!

                                  Just my two cents.

In my opinion, the difference between the n95 and the n93i lies in its size.

The N93i is HUGE. MASSIVE. watever, you want to call it. It's essentially a camcorder that rings. That being said, the N93i does take better photos than the N95 despite the reduced mega pixels, mostly because of the size of the lens and because the N93i boasts 3x optical zoom.

I still picked the N95 over the N93i because of its size and also because of its features like the built in GPS and the newer version of symbian. The video quality on the N95 is, of course, inferior to the N93i quality, but not by as much as you might think. N93i video quality isn't THAT amazing. The dual slider is also really cool (although the N93i's turning screen is also equally cool) and having dedicated music buttons is awesome.

IMO, N93i would be an awesomely perfect phone, if it werne't so HUGE.
