I would like to have say about R.I.M,,
Their input into the portable way of getting email (im in uk)has been the best effort for years and on our gadget show programme it came out tops out of all products tested 2 yrs back..Also look at america its now called the crackberry as people take them to bad with them so as to never miss an email now thats some product..
With RIM using its own proprietary software its had to build up its own catalogue of items but recently because of consumer wants and needs has diverged into the multimedia market to suit these people..
However we have to thank RIM for its genius email and pearl roller trackball even tho it may not be the fastest way of typing but wat is yet ?? Speech to text is the only way for ultimate typing and ive seen a product on QVC that does this very,very good but i cannot remember wat its called altho its for comps not smarfones.but shows it can be done at a fast and accurate speed.
There are people where i live who love touchscreens to the point of obssession but me i love buttons so the manufacturers cant do it all,but speech to txt is only way forward but we will still need a touch input at some point,
My 1350 miliamp battery shud be here soon to test i hope its genuine ?

when i win lottery the first stuff i aspect to buy is not a house, a car or wife, but is the ultimate phone nokia N95

not just the display, other function as well make me "WoW".When the time you tiresome other restrict function (just like SE phone, only good in camera,which i dont agree so much), you will found out that N95 is really intersting and amazing in other new function as GPS,3.5G

i feel strange about the battery because mine is in good condition, while i'm not often use, it able to handle 2 - 3 days, than if i play whole day, i need charge the phone at least 1 day after th other day evening.I think mine is lucky 1

n95 is a piece of crap its like just an ordinary china made phone which is not made to last but made to be repaired always.Always hang up a lots of bug ,tin can sound quality easily scratched covers battery life sucks always drain a charger dependent phone,not durable mechanical and electrical parts and after several months spare parts would not be available and thats the truth it is a part of marketing strategy that you have to bought another nokia phone again.

I tried a friends N95 camera and found it not up to my expectations. Too much JPEG artifacts when I view it on his 17 Inch LCD screen. Quite a disappointment though. And for those who think its a computer the truth it its not a full computer. The Symbian OS is very powerful but it doesn't have a huge number of applications yet and I bet people don't even know some useful application exists for this phone.
Positively speaking, the design is good. Its easy to use. Its a phone with lots of function, it has style and its pricey. A big display screen.

my battery lifetime its kinda good.. 2 days and listening to music making pics etc.. and btw. the recharge time is like 30 mins.. i couldn't belive it when i saw but it is true.. 30 mins and full ^^ its actualy (my opinnion) the best phone ever ^^ and NO its not touch screen.

Need so advice, Im looking for 3G phone and im considering N95 and 6110 Navigator. which is better in performance wise? and i heard 6110 crashes a lot, does this phone crash to coz that'll be a bummer. pls advice.

I have bought n95 yesterday... it is a real gem...
display is just amaizing... music quality is really kul....
camara is gr8...( hope there should be some optical zoom)....
phone is light in weight , compared to the features it carry....
Battary didnt gave any pain till now, even after heavy use for 1 day i needed to charge only at night....

Well I never said the N95 could out do an E90, I guess I just never see the need to type exceptionally long word documents on a cell phone, if you could even call the E90 a cell phone.
The N93 was bashed a ton because it was huge. The E90 is, wait for it, BIGGER than the N93. Now that being said, the E90 is a completely different phone than the N93 or the N95. The E90 is, as someone indirectly pointed out, a laptop replacment. The N95 is not. The N95 combines the phone, the point-and-shoot cam, the mp3 player, the portable radio and the portable GPS very nicely into one compact device. It doesn't pack along a 50wpm capable keyboard, but it is 90 grams lighter and a ton shorter/narrower.
I guess you're right, these two phones are in different leagues. I, personally, will never find myself in a situation where I will need to type extended essays on my phone. If you feel you need to, then yes, the QWERTY is essential. But for emails, text messages, editing existing text files (last minute edit etc.) and even blog entries, I'm 100% OK with a 12 key input.
Any, being Canadian, I have to throw in my two cents to defend RIM. Yah, RIM's claim to fame was push email and yes other phones can handle email now, but the Blackberry Enterprise Server will ensure than Blackberries remain popular for the foreseeable future.
Now in my earlier post, I was in no way bashing the 8830. I was just using it as an example as to how a generation gap can put a 12 key user like me head and shoulders over a mini-QWERTY user like my dad. We both type emails on our phones and I type em faster. For that length of text input, i think that the 12 key is a better solution because it allows the phone to be SMALLER. The 8830 and the 8800 are wonderful phones and perhaps have the best build quality of any pda-style phone on the market. The ability of the 8830 to use both CDMA and GSM networks lets my dad use the more reliable Telus CDMA network here in Canada, but still be able to use his phone when he travels to Singapore on business. 1x EVDO rev. A is also far more prevalent in North America than HSDPA is. Evenis HSDPA is faster, its no use if you can't get a signal.

Anyone has experience for browsing with N95 ?
the screen is NOT touchscreen, rite ? Is it easy to navigate the browser (open/close windows/using search engine)
N95 sounds great with latest technology, just curios since P1 can browse easily.

hey guys,u know anyone would love to get this sophisticated phones but just ppl not willing to spend that kind of $$$ just for a phone.But im thinking of getting this phone soon.What's wrong changing it ones for a phone full of function than getting a cheap phone than change it again and again?

Brynn, thanks for your reply on colours and screens. You may not agree but 18 bit 262144 colour screens are in reality 24 bit. However 6 bits are unused to make it appear as if it was 18 bit. You said you prefer 262K; yet if you take N93 and N93i (which have 262K and 16M respectively) the N93i definitely and obviously looks more colourful. One attains a more vivid colour experience. I am hoping that in their next batch of phones Nokia couple VGA screens with 16M colours. I believe that this combination will give the user the most vivid and accurate rendition of text, images and graphics.

Far, you are far away from the truth regarding QWERTY keyboards. There is no way the N95 can compete with the E90, Palm Treo 680 etc when it comes to typing on the go. The N95 at best will use T9 for text entry but this has always been an inferior solution to the classic QWERTY. These days portability is the word. We take our phones everywhere and that is why they often displace the laptop. The N95 is a multimedia device for general purpose whereas E90 is a multimedia device for business. If you want to type long, fast, accurate documents one has to use the QWERTY. If one practises, it's amazing the type of speed one can attain. When you type a word; its construction is made by you; letter by letter; not like predictive text where one has to continuously double check the predicted text to make sure the sentence makes sense!!

Yes I fully understand your frustration using that blackberry.Why people buy them I will never know!All RIM really had over the competition was push email and that was licensed out long ago.Now,office applications are essential for some and the ease of use is paramount,this is where the e90 and units like the HTC kaiser come into their own.The afore mentioned models do more or less everything an n95 does but just with a tad more authority.Be in no doubt touchscreen and QWERTY keyboards have a place.The n95 is a great little phone,infact the best in it's field but you have to remember what field your in. :-)

The batery tooks 1h30min to be full, is that normal? it doesnt need just 1h?

Well if I needed to write a 1000 word document i'd pull out my laptop and type it, or i'd pull out a bluetooth keyboard and type it. I'd hate to type 1000 words on even a blackberry or an E61 or watever. My dad's got a blackberry 8830 and i type faster on my N95 than he can on his 8830.
I keep my dairy on my N95 through the lifeblog application, and i can type just fine.

Touchscreen and/or qwerty keyboard is essential for any serious work.Try constructing a 1000word doc with a normal keypad and you will see what I mean(copy and paste is a nightmare!).We could also debate the merits of touchscreen when surfing the web.Do you like messing around on that little keypad or would you prefer one touch scrolling.Pro's and cons for whatever input method and i'm sure Nokia knew the majority of n95 owners were more than happy with the abc2,def3 etc
