Just picked this baby up this week. Hands down this is the best phone out. Iphone is way overhyped not the N95. Battery life isnt as bad as advertised first full charge lasted 24 hours with me messing with gps and wifi alot.

Terrible, ugly, get a S.E?Erm comments like that are bizarre!I for one haven't come across a phone as feature rich that looks as good and remember it is a compact device.Their is a few minus points-symbian os (unfortunately that's here to stay with s60) RAM,resolution is below what i'd hoped for and the camera is average in anything but ideal conditions.Overall 7.5/10

I'm sorry but that is an ugly phone. It looks like its from the mid 90s.

Symbian Guru Ricky got his hands on the latest internal Nokia N95 firmware, biggest feature upgrade: assisted global positioning. What makes AGPS different from standard GPS?

Standard GPS works without the need to be connected to a network of any kind. The stuff you see in cars, boats, the Nokia N95 before today's firmware, they all had to sync with at least 3 satellites in line of sight to get a fix and then process data. This takes time, a lot of time. When I was trialing the N95 a couple of months ago I got the GPS to get a fix only once. Sure GPS chips are getting better and faster, but how else can this lock on speed be enhanced? This is where AGPS comes in.

The A in AGPS stands for assisted. Your mobile takes a snapshot of what current satellites are visible and talks to a server that knows where the closest cell phone towers are. The server calculates your exact location and spits it back out to your device. Wicked wicked fast. I had the pleasure of working at Helio, all of their devices have AGPS. Lock on time was less than 5 seconds and I hope Nokia can get there one of these days.

How can Helio do it so quickly, yet Nokia can't? Helio knows the exact coordinates of all their (Sprint's) cellphone towers. Nokia doesn't have that luxury, but this is where users like Ricky and other N95 owners come in. Now this is just a theory, but I think that once the GPS finds your location it scans for nearby cellphone towers. This information is then sent to Nokia's central database where they are slowly, but surely, creating a map of cell towers all around the world.

Okay, let me start by saying this
N95 is a all-in-one phone but it doesn't do any of them that great even the camera is sub par. A decent 1 MP dedicated camera capture more crisp and realistic photos than this 5MP camera/phone/gps/music/video/wifi THING.

If you do plan to getting this watch out for online scams such as ppl on ebay and other online retailers as there is a china version with has electronic components that break down within a month

Overall great idea and 7/10 for me but the price and overall cheap feel of the phone is a huge draw back, i hop to see a second version of this phone.

Stylish? Yes. Good Features? Well, it depends on the user really. I explored the pictures and videos with my friend's brand new N95. They really are great. I took a video of my friend and transferred it to my PC but why is it that the Video was like a moving Painting? Even if we maximized the screen still the quality sucks... It is so different watching it on N95 itself... Why is that so? Is the resolution too high?? Can anybody explain me please?

To install (certificate expired)themes. You must change your N95 date temporarely as 2006. It will work. After installing you can set again your date as 2007. Good luck..

My friend have this phone for about 2 weeks and it started hanging already!! Then she went to nokia service center then they told her to save the files in the memory card because they will reformat it.. too bad ..

what I'm trying to say is, an overloaded phone will not do any good, you nokia lovers are just blinded with it's features.. pathetic..

the n95 is not a bad mobile at all i"ve had mine for about 4 months now an had no problems with it at all, nokia started the sliding mobiles offbut did not carry on making them, thats a fault nokias got to improve there sliders are not spring loaded which a thing nokias got to improve now, samsungs mobiles might be better in the slider market but lose out on its functions ,theres got to be a law or regulation to mobile produces now to stop them putting any battery life on any mobile they produce to make it alot easier for the public to be able to chose there mobile easier in stead of worry about the battery life on the handset they like,i had the n73 an would easily last 3 days without charging an really happy about that then why have nokia made the n95 an it just last one day which truelly disgusting by a mobile producer, thats why i say there should be a law to stop them doing that,3 days without harging would make the whole public happy i am sure
