I got this phone within 1 hour of its official launch in India. The fone looks great. Feels great to own this feature-monster. The design is great, but the quality of the body is not that great. To make this phone light weight (120 gms) the plastic used is quite low quality. The Performance of the Symbian Series 60 is appreciable, not great. Quite fast, but kinda drags once u start running apps parallely. The Media Player is simply awesome. I have been a SE K750i user and I know what "gr8" quality of music is. This one can beat any good SE walkman series phone. The OS is a bit buggy. When you are using the Media Player and a voice call comes in, the phone hangs after the call is done. Hopefully Nokia fixes this in future updates. Nice camera too. 5MP.

To Ulidian, in connection manager make sure that both bt microsoft and widcomm are ticked. Also ensure you pair the handset with the computer first, then open nokia PC Suite. Default pairing code os 0000 goodluck.

Hey, Ulidian, there are regular software upgrades for all nokie handsets, go to Nokia.com, handset support and software, download the update software and then update the firmware on your handset. The handsets are like computers right, so they require software updates occasionally, this allows them to be optimised for connectivity etc.

Another point, I have tried without success to get the N95 to connect to me laptop via Bluetooth and as a modem. It will connect via IR. I can connect the phone in a file transfer mode but cannot set it as a network connection. Has anybody else experienced this.

The N95 looks good, feels good and has some great features – but the battery life is crap. From fully charged - make a few calls (10/12) average time 4 mins, use the camera twice, collect email (headers only) approx 20, and now you will be on the one bar of the power line. If you want to use this phone you will need an extra battery or good access to a charger. Also, if you use it you will hang the phone at least twice a day.

Doesn’t the n95 cost more at Carphone Warehouse than O2 would charge for the same tariff? Anyway, I am after an upgrade, not a new contract, would they do this here at CW

I got my N95 on 2nd April (Voda UK) for free if you sign up for contract over £35. Whilst i haven't had time to sit down and really break the phone, i have used near enough all of it's features. So here's my view of what i've used so far.

Battery. Well the phone lasted me 3 days but i'm not a frequent caller so i reckon about a days worth of calls and 2 days standby. I've bought a 2nd battery for emergency purposes (not because the life sucks). I'm actually used the the battery not lasting much longer than that. the N80 batter is almost the same (with wireless search on or off!).

Camera(s). 5mp camera photos are Sharp and very impressive but i wasn't really impressed with the video recording quality on playback. What's more is that you'll be seriously disappointed when you playback on your tv's using that special cable that comes with the phone. The playback is absolutely terrible (i'm playing back on 40" bravia).

Music. Excellent. The concept of a second slider the opposite way impressed me. The quality of sound is excellent and with the added bonuses of 3D and graphic equaliser, your music listening is IMO awesome.

GPS. The GPS works fine. It attempts to connect to a network on startup but you can skip that. As the phone is (i'm going off the purchase date of Start of April 07), the GPS software does not come with maps although you can download them for free. My phone came with a 512 micro SD which was crap if you plan to install a number of maps on it - so i now have a 2gb microsd and have used just under 1gb on it for maps alone!). Now here's the pay attention part. If you want to use it as a route planner, you have to pay for it. Don't confuse route planner with gps tracking as the gps tracking works as soon as your device picks up satelites. I've paid for the route planner service for a month and i must say it's really impressive and the voice commands and HUD makes it feel just like a tomtom. You won't see the route planner 'look' unless you pay for it. So if you're one of these users that plans a route and then tries to start navigation and it doesn't work, that's why. Now i've heard a rumour that there are phones on UK's O2 network that will have this software in built with a 3 year license provided you pay £70pm. If you plan to use gps often, then this is worth it.

WIFI. Just like the N80, superb. Had no problems picking it up and i'm impressed that it shows availability in words on the 'home' window. It connects to WPA2 wifi as well so again, impressive. The Home Network software already on the phone too so you can instantly download/upload mp3s and mp4's to and from your phone. Note that you will need to update your PC Suite software (if you haven't already done so).

Screen size. Excellent. When compared with N80's screen, almost 10mm longer and 5mm wider. This makes for a more pleasant view of icons and images you look at on the screen.

Summary. Despite the obvious concerns of battery life and photo quality (i'm no expert on photography though), the phone itself is awesome and for me is the Real deal and the best phone in the market today (i did see a post on a previous page about the N99 though. looks interesting!). If you can stomach charging your phone either daily or every 2 days (i only keep a phone for 12 months anyway!) then this IS the phone to get. my 10cents :)

Why bother waiting until early May for o2 to get it when you can go to Carphone Warehouse and get it on o2 now?

hey this phone sounds really so poor
                                      i have n95 now
i will just say it sounds very bad compared to my w850i and its not loud
                                      VGA videro is good
                                      but price to high
and battery is poor too it plays only for 1.5 hours of musik through loud speaker

                                      i'll rate it 7 out of 10
