Anonymous, 25 Feb 2009QVGA resolution is best justified in a 2.6-inch screen and ... moreA couple of guys told u what u asked for...for me i will tell you only one thing. All of us that own N958gb could easily sold our used device and buy a new N85 and would still have enough for a couple of beers:) But doing that would be plain stupid and no one will do it. There u have it. Regards:)

jack, 25 Feb 2009listen, i guess you`re a bumbling amateur when it comes to ... moreQVGA resolution is best justified in a 2.6-inch screen and not on a 2.8-inch because the pixels will only appear stretched and each individual pixel is very visible when you look at the screen which is in the case of the N95 8Gb. Again, N85 beats N95 8Gb when it comes to the display as QVGA when put on a 2.6-inch screen with OLED technology offers perfect picture quality. What else are the cons of N95 8Gb that I haven't mentioned? Ah, I see. No camera lens cover. It means permanent damage to the lens that will yield to worse image quality. Single LED flash, means only half the illumination that N85 can provide. N96 and N85 may have cheaper materials but N95 8GB's slider will wobble sooner and break into halves first than those two. Both N96 and N85's slides are firm and spring-assisted. N95 8GB is just like N95. It just upgraded the original N95 but doesn't add anything nor upgrades anything. It's still the same old flagship device of 2006 that has no expertise. For non-N95 8Gb users, don't miss your chance to experience an excellent audio quality and excellent multimedia experience. Ditch the N95 8GB and buy the N85. When N86 8MP comes out, N85's price will drop down dramatically, while N95 8Gb's price is fixed and doesn't depreciate which is really not worth it, given all the reasons I have narrated.

Tommyboy7, 24 Feb 2009N82 beats every phone in the world but only in having the b... moreThe logic goes like this. N85 is a better substitute to N96. N96 is the successor/alternative of N95 8GB. Therefore, N85 is better than those 2 N9x flagship devices. Between N95 8Gb and N96, N96 is better. The dedicated audio and video processors of N96 make up for its lack of 3D accelerator. 3D accelerator is only used in gaming and some few related graphic stuff. Most of the time, that chip is not even working. While the DAC and DVC of N96 makes it a worthy replacement for a high quality dedicated music and DVD players. N95 8Gb is a jack of all trades, master of none. N85 is the practical version of N96. Audio quality and video playback quality are on par with N96. Nothing is special with N95 8Gb. It's basically an N82 minus the xenon flash and card slot, plus 0.4-inch more of a display in wobbly slider form factor with a very unreasonable hefty price tag!
Actually all the series of messages I've been posting here are not intended for N95 8Gb users. This goes out to all future Nseries buyers who are choosing which among these phones should they get. I'm highly recommending the N85 more than N95 8GB. If you could find an N85-3 in your area, that's much better since that has better build quality than N85-1. N85 is overall better than N95 8GB. You are spending a lot money, why not spend it on the best phone among all these which is N85.

Anonymous, 24 Feb 2009If N82 already has beaten N95 8GB hands down, why can't N85... moreN82 beats every phone in the world but only in having the best camera with xenon flash(yes including N958gb and also N85). Otherwise it cannot compare with N958gb (small screen, poor battery etc). I think the real replacment for N958g will be N97. Even N86 8mp will not make much of a difference. Everything between N958gb and N97 is not worth mentioning for real users (kids wanting latest gadgets are not included) Regards!

Please understand - we are NOT saying N85 is crap - but you are wasting time in persuading people about not buying N958gb. Those who have tried it, know what i'm talking about. It almost seems like you have a truck full of N85's and cannot sell them:)Regards:)

Dani, 24 Feb 2009N96 is Sh*t ...its built like a coke can very cheap and its... moreDo you think a QVGA resolution in a 2.8-inch screen looks more stunning than a 2.6-inch QVGA OLED screen? As if I don't know. The pixels are stretched and very much visible in N95 8GB's screen. The menu transition alone makes the N85 very exciting especially watching it in a gorgeous OLED screen. 16Gb is very much possible with N85. It's never impossible to expand it to 32GB once such card is released. You can put all your music, and still have plenty of space to capture images and shoot video in the highest resolution with the highest quality. Is it possible to do that on N95 8GB? Naviwheel and FM transmitter are very nice features that should be enjoyed on a Nokia phone. N85 got both, N95 8GB got none. N85's sound quality is one of the best whereas N95 8GB's horrible. Even 5220 XpressMusic has much better sound quality than N95 8GB. Triband HSDPA on N85-3 means you can use it both in America, Europe and Asia. N95 8Gb has only a single band 3G and cannot be used for international roaming. Everything on N85 saves power, from its processor, to the software, to the OLED screen, everything consumes much less power, achieving a much longer battery life. N95 8GB has the same battery capacity but cannot achieve that same battery life since its TFT large screen and dual processor are very power hungry. And last is design. N95 8GB is a very wide and bulky phone, while N85 is slim and sleek. N85 also has better design and much nicer than N95 8GB.

N85 just has slight improvements..its nothing to bragg about like FPS and OLED Display... and its display is 0.2 smaller being 2.6 inch and its design is more slender.

So N95 8GB is still a VERY GOOD PHONE considering its 2 years old. it still manages to beat many of the newer N-Series phones

N95 8GB costs 540 dollars while N85 costs 430 dollars only. Which is more practical between the two? Considering that N85 is the newer, better device with more extra and upgraded features, is N95 8GB's 110 dollars excess in price reasonable? Be wise, buy an N85 which can do much more and better than N95 8GB and you can still buy a 16GB microsd card for less than 110 dollars. You save money and you get the best value for your money.

I don't need that link. I have tried it for myself. I know that the only thing that N95 8GB edges out the N85 is the camera and speakers. Hello? There's more to multimedia than camera alone. And of course a lot more people prefer listening to music through the headphones rather than the speakers. If I put on my large collection of over 3,000 songs on N95 8GB, will I still have enough space to record even just 15 minutes of video in TV quality? N85 may not be the best in media production but it's one of the best in media consumption. And in everything else, the N85 is far more superior than N95 8GB. So for those people who are planning to buy an all-in-one multimedia device, buy the N85. It's more worth it than N95 8GB.
