JAPAN? KOREA? - Does N95 8GB work in Japan and Korea (3G UMTS 2100) I pass by Japan every time I go to USA. Thinking of buying cause my friend gave the phone a "10" rating

For N95 8Gb's price, it's not really worth it. It's not the best in anything for it to be the most expensive. When we talk about camera, N82 is the best. Music, N96 or 5800 is top notch. Video, nothing beats N96. So, what multimedia department does N95 8Gb excel best compared to others? Answer is none. Why? Because N95 8GB is an all-in-one device that doesn't specialize on anything. It is same as the classic N95. Same below average sound quality headphones-wise. Same screen, only 0.2 inch larger. Same boring design and little bit bulkier. And in fact, even N95 classic has better image camera quality results than N95 8Gb. Battery life has been increased but still can't beat N85. And most people even pair N95 8Gb with much less expensive N82. N82 gets the upperhand with it's unbeatable image quality. And the worst thing about it is that all the other mobile phones can be expanded to 16Gb and more of memory while N95 8Gb is miserably stuck with only 8Gb. As a consolation, N95 8Gb is undoubtedly one of the best mobile phones ever produced by Nokia and used to be the king. But not anymore. There are a lot of much better phones that are spawning every month so the once king N95 8Gb has already been dethroned long ago! Accept the reality!

I tried it togethe... moreYou also have to consider that N96 is just a recently released phone in a new platform with still immature firmware whereas N95 8Gb is already on its final firmware version. When N96 hits the v31 firmware, that's only time that it's true potentials will be realized. Same holds true for N85.

I tried it togethe... moreIf i had to make a comparison between N958gb and N96 i say N96 is like Windows Vista (shiny but doesn't work) and N958gb is like Windows XP (doesn't look all that new but gets the job done). Too bad you don't get downgrade rights for N96 but some people do it anyway:)))

I tried it together with N958gb and N96 needed like 5 secs just to load gallery and everything else was working like in slow motion compared to N958gb. I don't know about you but all the superior stuff you mentioned that it has is worth s***t if the software is working in slo-mo. But that's no surprise since it lacks graphics chip. Ask Nokia why they made a succesor of N958gb without graphics chip, with less ram and slower cpu. Maybe recesion is the reason:)))))
In our country N958gb is almost two years old and it costs more or the same as N96 - and on the net i can find dozens of adds from people selling their N96 and willing to trade it for N95 8gb. Long live the king:)I rest my case:) Regards!

N96 has much much better sound quality via headphones and speakers, better video quality, has DVB-H, 16Gb internal memory plus expansion slot, better user interface than N95 8Gb. N85 as already mentioned has more advantages than N95 8Gb - screen, battery life, design, sound quality, fm transmitter, naviwheel, fp2, cheaper. N95 8Gb used to be the king. But not now, not anymore. You still haven't realized that your N95 8Gb is already outdated.

I'm encouraging everyone to buy N85 instead of N95 8Gb. N95 8Gb is more expensive but not better than N85 at all. N95 8Gb is like the 2-year old N95 that has been limited to 8Gb of memory. N85 is a breath of fresh air. N85 is a very exciting phone has all the features of N95 8Gb with cool new features like OLED screen, FM transmitter, Naviwheel, eyecandy menu transitions that aren't in N95 8Gb. And the good thing is N85 costs less than this sucky N95 8Gb. You can buy the N85 NAM or N85-3 version. It's 3G works both in America, Europe and Asia since it's a triband 3G/HSDPA phone with 850/1900MHz bands for the U.S., and a 2100MHz band for Europe and Asia.

Imran, 21 Feb 2009i m using this cell since Nov 08...and my brother uses N96.... moreI can definetely confirm that. Compared even to the so called flagship N958gb is much faster and everything works better. The only thing N96 has better is 16gb of integrated memory. I still didn't use half of my 8gb so i don't sweat about that. N958gb is still real high end:) Cheers

n95 8gb was design to take over mobile tecnology these days, and its true! u'll never get bored with this mobile, the wifi n 3g is the most fastest one in the world... the build quality is so beautiful, n85 cant even compare with this mobile, go for it!!! be a king with a king mobile...

But in everything else, N85 is a lot better than N95 8Gb. Look, N95 8Gb is already more than 1 year old and it's still more expensive than the newer, fresher, better phones. N85 performs better and is much better than N95 8Gb in overall features! From the screen, sound quality, battery life, video playback, user interface, design, N85 is ahead of N95 8Gb!
