It's really unfair for the N95 8gb to be called an iphone-killer. Have you ever had an Iphone 3g? well i've thrown mine (just kidding) the IPhone might be popular (because of teenagers) but N95 8GB are for "serious" people.

Simplicity, 09 Jan 2009Wouldn't say its the most impressive phone I've ever come a... moreHonestly if what your after the next big thing, go for the iphone or the n96 (depending if you like touchscreen or not). If you want something that has been constantly proven to do the job...this is the phone for you....
====
hmmm, I would rather not suggest Iphone... N96 maybe but you have traded the additional 8gb to a smaller battery, slower CPU, (it is only using ARM 9) N95 has ARM 11, the hardware accelerated graphics are removed on N96, I believe the N93 and the N95's are the only one on the Nseries with this kind of chip... If I were going to suggest, it would be N97. It has the benefit of a touch screen and a physical keypad. I'm not into touch screens as i'm a gamer. (yes i used n95 as a gaming device).

Better Display & Sound? Go for N958GBBetter Camera? Go for N82
Better Display & Sound? Go for N958GB

I think it is more appropriate to say better "flash" instead of camera as the two has basically the same camera but with diff flash. Overall for n95 8gb as it is more capable than N82. taking pictures in the DARK can be remedied by some tweaking. well, on Daylight N95 and n82 is the same. on Macro shots, N95 is better so there's no clear winner, it really depends if you are into getting pictures in the dark (get n82 for the xenon) or taking detailed macro shots (go for N95).

It doesn't feel cheap when you're holding it. The slide feels nice and solid too. It does however feel like a brick. It's a fairly heavy and thick phone. Call quality and reception are superb. The display is nice. There are many good freeware apps available with a simple internet search. It runs the Symbian 60 Os and can be a little slow at times but it's barable. Built in camera is nice but I haven't had prints done from it yet. Talk time with minimal (email pull every 30 min, minor browsing to check bank balance etc) surfing for me is about 2.5 hours. Wifi sucks back the juice though. Audio sounds great also coming out of the speakers. Tried Nokia's internet radio and it's been good espeically listening to it through the car stereo with an fm transmitter. The only two things this phone is missing is a touch screen (iphone) and an sdhc slot. Other than the two things missing my other biggest complaint about this phone has to do with the corded handsfree option. When you're using the handsfree cord, it does not come with a microphone, it is an earphone only. The microphone from the phone is used to pick your voice. Having said that, I piped the incoming audio through the fm transmitter and that made it into a car kit. The phone was smart enough not to pick up the sound it was transmitting and only to pick up my voice and other surrounding noises. If you're looking for an organizer type phone, I would say get something else. The keypad isn't great to use over an extended period of time. While it would have been nice to have a qwerty keyboard, that's not what the phone was intended for. The 3G on the phone itself is fast. While teathering, my speeds are not that great and of course latency is etremely high. I have also read on some forums that the phone is throttled down while teathering. Overall, great phone but not really an iphone (3G) killer.

Used the phone for almost a year. Great phone but a bit slow. Has all the functions including a top-line camera and an awsome media player. Big screen too. As big as some of the touchscreens on the market though, please know that the USB transfer is very slow. Took me 2hours to copy paste from the phone to my comp 3gb.
