In terms of an antenna, the N96 uses the wired headset to receive stations on the FM band. Data connection is a must for DVBH and BBC iPlayer.
But here's a question to other N96 users and owners: has anybody noticed the small gold rod poking out of the back of the phone on the upper right corner, which connects to a small, round gold plate on the upper part of the battery cover? I myself am wondering what that is for.

Your three months free license must've ended. You now have to pay for the license that would allow you to use voice navigation for a couple of months or the rest of the year.
Sat nav, without the voice turn-by-turn navigation, is free.

You really wouldn't be able to. Nokia removed the navi wheel in the retail version of the N96. I hope they'd put it back in through a software update.

Get the l8est FW v12.043 . And u cn witch of the breathing light. Go2 Tools >Setting >General >Naviweel >Breathing Off.

hey guys n85 is better than n96.this is because it has higher talk time.it is also a little bit faster than n96.they have the same functionality but n96 has a higher memory.so,for those of you who want buy a greater multimedia device with lower rates,please go for n85.and those who need more storage memory u can go for n96

Anonymous, 12 Feb 2009the keypad on my n96 keeps flashing. is this normal? ive be... moreI just bought n96 after I sold my n95 8g. One of the little detailed improvements over n95 is this soft 'on' light and when there's message the light brinks twice in short sequence each cycle. I think its a cool feature. N96 has a very 'polite look' so is the warning light method.
I don't think you can turn it off.
Among other improvements which I have yet to discover, I'm very satisfied with the decision to switch to n96.
