Sputnik N96 user, 22 Dec 2008ive been on the nokia website and entered my code to update... moresome phones are branded by network and cant be updated, the way to tell if your mobile is branded is when you start it up it will have the logo of say optus,vodafone,telstra ect, (before the nokia startup melody)
take it to the nokia care centre and ask them if they can debrand it for you.

Samsung innov8 is a much better phone, a little larger but much better build quality the only thing innov8 lacks is the TV receiver n96 feels and looks very cheap and its dual slide design is annoying and useless

I just tried to upgrade the firmware to Version 12.043. When the phone started up, the following msg came up: "Phone failed to start up, contact retailer". Nokia Customer care cant fix the phone. Has anyone had a similar problem? All I can suggest is keep your invoice safe as you may need it in order to not incur any charges from Nokia

iam working call center where we deal some truble shoot for GPRS in india. what ever you post about handset its fine. But we peopal need some more information about
GPRS setting where we can given our setting regarding our connection so i request to you pls update about this information about where we can type URl home page, IP add, proxy server add and port no.
onceagaine i request to you update this information as soon as possible

2 all u people who updated to 12.043 firmware is there a major difference 2 your phones that makes the n96 a gr8 phone? does n96 lag or have any more problems?is it worth buying it? please reply

2 all u that have the n96 does the dvb-h line tv cost alot? do u have 2 download content of the internet?

I got my N96 yesterday. Came home and the first thing I did is upgraded the firmware to version 12. Change to version 12 and you will experience the best of N96 in terms of performance. The web site to upgrade is:

its just coooool even if some fools say its useless.its features are cool....only thing is tat we should not install many applications in it....use only needed ones even after filling 16 gb itz fast enough..........

ive been on the nokia website and entered my code to update my firmware 10.065 an apparently the newest is v12.01 but evey time i go to update it says there are no updates for my phone at this time, im confused? can anyone help

the numbers 1/2/3 on the keypad are restricted where loads of customers cannot actually press them. doesnt seem to be anything with our own software on them at the moment but we will see :D

whats so gr8 about the sony ericsson x1, it has a bad 3.15 mp camera and a low 65k screen. why do people love it so much????
