Oh,GSMArena,N96 has a 3D HW Accclerator (all N9X Nokia phone has one) and a DSP chipset that permits a improved performance on audio,video,graphics and battery life (that,at actially [I don't know how to write this],is better than the N95 8GB one in this features).

if u still hav the same problem
try this hard reset code *#7370#...
if it dosnt work then update ur firmware via nokia PC suit....instaul the PC suit cd then folow the pC instructions....

just upgrade your phones firmware by nokia software updater or by pressing *#0000# .*****Please backup all things in nokia pc suite before the upgrading*****.

Nseries Rocks, 09 Dec 2008Hey guys, is the touch sensitive Navi Wheel enabled in the ... morenope!no touch sensitive naviwheel.it is still a touch button wheel.it always has been.i think the prototype as i heard was a touch sensitive wheel.it wont depend on the firmware anymore coz its a hardware issue i think.anyways what i want them to fix are the faults of the n96!!!im glad they did have another firmware upgrade and ihope this time id be happy with my unit without the hanging.sigh :D despite it all i still love this fone. :D

I update the software with Nokia PC and now I have... moresimple just hard reset it ....hold the folowing while the phone is off...
*3 & call botton then swtch the phone on while holding the three buttons....till the Nokia logo blinks twice

hey guys!!!firmware version 12.043 for n96 is already out.i have upgraded mine but i havent tried it yet i hope it fixes lots of things on this mobile coz i cant seem to let go of this.goodluck on yours! :X

Hi guys
I update the software with Nokia PC and now I have problems with the phone . It doesn't want to start ,I get the message "Phone start-up failed. Contact the retailer"
Does anyone know what to do besides CONTACT THE RETAILER

Who said That N96 is a slow phone! they all are foolish people..People stored maximum data in 15GB thats why effects on phone's ram Please use like a mobile not like a Laptop:) well In the phone I got only one problem dat is it's battery timein. But I solved dat problem..Simple change The Battary B.L 5 Into B.L6 its gain ur Stand-by up to 320 h & Talk time Up to 6 h 30 min.

its been awhile that i havent been in this page.. im glad to know that the haters were gone now.. a few were left but not the fanboys from other companies.. they have shift to N97 page i guess, trying to destroy it like what they did to N96, but then at the end they failed because N96 still became a bestseller..
at last, the owners can now enjoy this page helping each other.

Yeah ive used this phone and i generally prefer a non- n series phone or maybe the N95 8GB black. Although it boasts a huge 16 gigbytes memory and can have a further 16 in a memory card. IT IS SLOW AS SH*t!!! sorry people but this is like bloody slow. It restarts randonly which is found in my N95-2. Its slow needs more ram. The slide is tough and brittle. The screen is hardly any good as it easily gets scratch and it can easily get dust in it! further more it has a rubbish camera. A complete aberration. Nokia has really done well with this one? i think not!
