the release of this phone is expected to be this week and i was thinking of taking this with my contract but i just saw the innov8 there and couldn't resist... i wish there was a nokia with an 8 mpix camera and i wouldn't have chosen the samsung for sure...i believe that nokia is the only brand who knows how to make the best smartphones but this time it has slipped a bit behind from the competition...

When to try to open the PUSH TO TALK application by searching it in the help of N96, it says unable to open application.
also when you put any mp3 ringtone, the phone almost goes on silent mode. only the ringtones which have come with the phone are working properly, all others are almost inaudible when the phone rings!! these are the two drawbacks!

Mine comes on friday, I'll be giving it the full work out :D
I expect it just to have a few minor differences (software wise) to my N95.

I would like to know what the camera quality is like, some people say it's worse than N95?

I m not impressed with the feature as if compared to N95 8GB. camera quality is little poor. No answer for that.

I have just ordered the NOKIA E71 which looks way better than N96. N96 is bulky. I think E71 is an awesome phone for the money and you can upgrade to 8GB memory for hardly $30 extra. Can't beat that!!!

Just ordered one of these, I have used the i8510 and it really is'nt very good, unfortunately can't play with it any more as it has gone back faulty (dodgy software on it) N96 here I come.

You've got to trust me on this when I say this will not be better than the Samsung i8510. In fact I believe the Samsung is better. My 100% honest opinion coming from a Nokia lover / Samsung hater!

just seen it ugly compared to my n95 8gb tested it in vodafone store definatly not worth upgrade from n95 8gb

just got these in stock today sellable from 1st october on orange and vodaphone £30 a month if you trade in your old n95 silver def worth the buy

N96 is really a hot shot now ...
Some say N85 is the way better than N96 ..
maybe itz all b'coz itz battery life(950mah) ..
N96 is a truly multimedia phone(all in a package) wif large screen , rich multimedia,& connectivity ..
While,N85 is juz an upgrade of N96(or maybe N82 wif new design) wif more battery life than N96 ..
01. The rumour bout the display is better in N85 than N96 :::
** Of coz wif the exact display resolution both at 240x320, N85 has a smaller screen display size(2,4'') than N96 (2,8'') ..
thats why it produce more clear colour display than N96 (itz true!! No offence)
02. Battery Life ... Again & again i''ll say though N96 only got 950mah,back to back itz up to ur daily use of it..Of coz it will last in a day if u use it for music,video,games,etc..
In additional,im using P1i (1120mah)..i set the brightness at 40%..as usual,i listen to music(around 4 hours)"DAILY",do messaging ,games,& camera also .. it left below 10% at night ..
03. N96 has more classy & stylish look than N85
04. N96 ..maybe im a bit confuse bout the camera quality in N96..coz my sister is using N95 8Gb,& i think the capturing picture viewfinder & the picture it produced is a bit dark...than i compare to my P1i(produce clear & rich colour)
05. If ur confuse of choosing between N96 or N85, then juz wait for a more perfect phone by nokia(N9xxx)
