Please rid yourself of this fixation of yours and that HTC of yours. If you really like that device, then go ahead and buy it. Again, that is a PocketPC, which, again, is pointless to compare with this multimedia device.
As a PocketPC, HTC S730 is designed for typing, because the aim was to carry mobile Office with you, as well as an Internet connection for email. And Windows Mobile manages these things very well. But Nokia N96 is optimized for multimedia. Battery performance optimized for longer playback time, hardware accelerated codecs (see H.264), dedicated DSP chip for audio quality, massive memory to store even DVDs, high performance camera and video recorder (best available), all of these tell us (beside Nokia themselves) that this device is made for something else. Now don't draw the wrong conclusion. Nokia N96 is still capable of managing Office and email and all other things that require typing. As a comparison, HTC S730 can (also) manage music and video players, but doesn't offer spectacular results like a dedicated multimedia device.
That is why, in my opinion, you'll never see an Nseries handset with QWERTY. If you want an Nseries device and still want to edit Office etc., get used to that T9. It seems that there are users who type pretty well with T9. On the other hand, if your aim is to get a phone that manages Office etc and still want some music/video/photos, go for a PocketPC (such as your HTC S730) or an Eseries device like E90.
If you're still unsatisfied of what the mobile phone market has to offer, all you can do is wait until something that satisfies you comes out.

You know, for a multimedia rich device like this phone, I am surprised to see a small capacity battery. Why the 950 mAh? Anything before 1100 mAh is totally not acceptable these days.

i have been looking at this phoe as it look really cool and has so much.
the thing is y cant people put wot the think without some1 coming along and saying UR wrong. people put ur points a cross but dont say bad thing 2 each other.
