Nokia need to step things up!A flagship model with no 3D hardware acceleration is exploiting their customers lack of tech know how. Then we will have s60 touch which will be more dross.Power users don't want s60 Symbian OS,they want powerful applications that are desktop class. The Symbian environment cannot deliver this.

Guys nokia hasn't disclosed n96's CPU,GPU specification yet. So don't worry about 3D hardware acceleration. It must have 3D hardware acceleration. As decedent of n95 it must include all features of n95 and more. If u want more information then visit nokia forum. One more thing n95, n82, n93 ... uses dual cpu ARM11 whereas n78, n81, ... uses Single cpu ARM11. dual cpu does include 3D hardware accelerator so don't worry. go to the link below to find more information.

Looks like Nokia is getting jealous because of the iPhone touch screen capability, they knew their N95 wasn't going to get very far because it's too expensive and the battery life is just appauling. Now they've made a Nokia version of the Apple iPhone, looks like it's going to be a stiff competition between the two but I still (I used to be obsessed with the N series when the N70 came out and I owned an N70 too).

Yes the phone does not have any 3D hardware accelarator coz ARM11 369Mhz CPU has 220Mhz GPU oh yeh! The main processor have built in GPU bcoz of which phone will consume less power buy the way its not fair to compare a PDA XPERIA with N96 smarthphone since the only Nokia phone which is in comparision with XPERIA X1 is Nokia E90 both phones are mini-laptop where as N96 is a smartphone also i think Nokia should 1200Mah battery in a final release version.

You nokia fanboys need to wisen up or nokia will never give your n-series a decent display.QVGA which is used on n-series has FIVE times less quality than the WVGA used on the XPERIA X1 that's like watching a film on an old bust up vhs tape then comparing with the latest dvd.Use your brain for once!

For steve who won't believe me when I'm telling him the N96 has no 3D hardware acceleration.Gsmarena are in Nokia's pocket and won't make an issue out of it much the same as symbianblogs but at least they have mentioned it- Well, the N96 is not so much of a N95 we might think, it lacks 3D acceleration. Thats right, surprising but true! That means we can forget the Ngage experience on a higher plane. The TV out is still the same as N95, the VGA resolution continues to be reserved for the Gallery only.At Go and read it yourself http://thesymbianblog.com/2008/02/12/hands-on-with-the-n96/
